5 year old party invitations??

I'm about to sit down and design some Strawberry Shortcake Party Invites for dd's 5th birthay next month. Problem is my mojo is just not working right now:confused: and I can't visualise the end product. Hence I'm having a hard time even starting.

If I could I'd just buy premade Strawberry Shortcake invites, but that character is not a common party theme here, unlike Dora, Barbie and the Disney Princesses, so sourcing them is a real problem.

I really need some inspiration. I would love to see what you all have done for your kids' birthdays. Even if it's not girly - I kinda need to find a format/design to start with.

TIA!

Hi Jacinda :)

I don't have an invite to show you but I can tell you what I would do and see if that helps, lol.

I would pick a size, open a file in that size, and pick a fun BG paper (not sure if you have it or not, but Kristin's Berry Patch kit is pretty much perfect for this: )

So I'd open a file of whatever size you want to print, and pick a fun BG paper. Then I'd make a rectangle shape that fits inside the invite size, and pick a lighter solid color piece of paper, and clip that to it. I'd write out all the pertinent information in a text box on the smaller rectangle. Then, embellish to your hearts content around it :) That bow would look super cute across either hte top or the bottom, spread a few strawberries around on it with a leaf or two and a flower or 3, and call it a day :)

Feel free to PM me if you want anymore ideas or help!

Here's one I did for my son's 2nd (in the final product I changed the yellow balloon to blue):

Here is one I did for my son's recent birthday. I usually just find a kit I like and start throwing stuff on the canvas, lol. Not sure if that is good or not :)

Thanks for the ideas and the examples :) Great minds must think alike, because I had already decided to use Kristin's Berry Patch kit, I just didn't know what format to use. I searched the net for inspiration and found a super cute example that I'm going to lift. I'll post a pic of the finished product once it's done.

Thanks again for all the replies
