5 Reasons You Shouldn't Be Afraid of a GIRLIE kit on your BOY layouts

These are all great reasons and points. Maybe some day I'll get over my issue with flowers on Declan's layouts. ;)

To be perfectly honest, I don't look at a kit and say "there's pink in there" or "there are flowers in there, and I can't use that on my boy's page". I just really don't reach for flowers or pink when it comes to doing his pages. His favorite color is pink and he likes flowers but I still have to force myself to use them and it's not a conscious thing either.

Love it Tracy!

Funny story - I recently scrapped a page that had separate photos of both my son and daughter. When ds saw the page he got all huffy and said, "How come Mya gets flowers next to her picture and I don't!"

I often catch myself scrapping a page with Ben's photo and not even thinking about whether the kit is masculine/feminine. It just doesn't occur to me that it should matter. I just pick the kits that match the colors in the photo or the theme. :) And I need flowers... on every page. :D

Great post Tracy, and all good points. I am so lucky that my son, who is a big burly man, 6'5", 225 lbs, with a full beard and over 21 now, is not only okay with my scrapping him any way I want, but encourages it. He is totally okay with flowers and anything else I like on a page. :)

I love this! I am one of the moms that likes the challenge of making a boy page with a girly kit, it's fun for me. ;)

Maybe flowers in general are my problem. I have to make myself use flowers. I never really put flowers on my paper layouts and that kind of extended into my digi scrapping. I do it a lot more now than I used to, for sure.

I'm sure my boys (Declan, my step-son and DH) wouldn't care about the flowers. I'm just a dork. LOL

I use to let it hold me back but I try to deal with it now. In fact, I just got done with a page for my son and was upset the kit didn't have flowers! Can you believe it???????? LOL

You'd be surprised how many boy moms let it hold them back!

I knooooow! I hear this all the time, being a rather "girly-girl" designer. Yet I have several CT members who ONLY have boys and can scrap with my stuff.

It's all in how you play with it!

Great post, Traci!
