I'm looking at my goals for 2014 and in doing so I've been reflecting on 2013. I realize that some pretty good things happened this year.

So share with us...what were the top 3 good things that happened to you this year?

Mine:
1. I've lost 30 pounds and fit in to the dress I'm wearing to my sisters wedding in March (a month ahead of schedule!)
2. I was brave and finally had a conversation with my husband about making our marriage better and it worked - we're happier!
3. I've been able to develop my department at work and I'm finally getting to hire some staff and be the department head I was hoping I'd be when I took this job.

Good stuff!!!

Wow, Juli! What an awesome year!!!

The top 3 that come to mind for me:

1. Celebrated 10 years of marriage to my wonderful husband.
2. Got my first smartphone and totally transformed how I communicate and keep in touch with friends and family. (Sent my first text in 2013! Haha! Early adopter I am not!)
3. Decided to spend more time with my family so I hired a house cleaning service. Best thing I've done for my sanity, ever. :)

I'll add scrapbooking accomplishments too, because I'm proud of them:

1. Completed my second year of writing for The Daily Digi. I LOVE sharing and learning with the scrapbooking community.
2. Completed my 1st year of pocket scrapbooking. Amazing feeling. It's been the single-most transformative thing I've done in scrapbooking since starting. I love this style of memory-keeping.
3. Became a SugarBabe!!! This has been a dream of mine for years! Love this Sweet Shoppe! :)

What GREAT accomplishments you all have shared!!! :D

Ok! My top 3:
1. Lost weight on Weight Watchers! I can't even remember the final numbers but I went from a size 14 jeans to an 8.
2. Started designing, a dream of mine! I even got to collab on kits with a few of my design heroes here at SSD.
3. Put our house on the market and started house hunting. I consider this an accomplishment, because it was a leap of faith for us and it has been a LOT of work.

It's so fun to read what people have accomplished! I'm excited for all of you!!!

Heddy - Maybe one of my goals for 2014 needs to be to hire a maid. That would certainly make my life easier!!!

Great stuff, ladies!

1. Traveling to Iceland and Greenland in addition to Montana - possibly the three most beautiful places on the planet. Seeing active glaciers and feeling them is an amazing experience. Life changing.
2. Taking the first steps towards a job that makes me happy, instead of just making money.
3. Welcoming a new kitty into our lives. I'm still adjusting, but seeing Wes so happy makes me happy, too.

Hmmmm, what a nice thread to reflect back on. For me:

1. I decided to volunteer for the school yearbook and while it was a LOT of work - I was so proud to see it in print! So much so that I signed up to do it again this year. :)

2. On a whim, we decided to tear out out carpets and repaint our home. It came out so beautifully and I love the feeling when I come home to see how nice it looks!

3. I was having some health issues and went to go get it checked out and found out that I had tumors inside me - and took the stance to take care of this now instead of putting it off. Diagnosis was positive and now I am home for the next 8 weeks enjoying the holiday time with my family and for the first time - enjoying "me" time without worrying what is going on at work. :)

Ok trying to keep this to me specifically lol!

1) Travelled to the oregon coast. <3 sigh. I want to go back right this minute
2) Finally got to meet lots of my sweet shoppe family in vegas! I was so scared to go on this trip but it was really good for me to be brave and do it :)
3) Started running in the summer and although we never got to finish the couch to 5k program before winter hit I'm getting back into it now with a treadmill. I discovered its good for my head and an awesome stress reliever. I hesitate to say i'm a runner - i'm a jogger. haha! Maybe at the end of next year I can say runner.

it's awesome to read what you all accomplished this year.

i think i wrote it somewhere that i am not too happy how 2013 turned out but maybe i didn't look closely enough.

1. we were finally moving. something i have been working on for years. of course it was stressful but worth it all. still don't feel to have been adjusted to all but i know this takes time.

2. i was starting out on creative teams. from my first moment of diving into scrapbooking i wanted that and then i simply applied. and some sweet designers took me :-)
changed my view on scrapbooking. opened my style. love it!

3. i got more clear on what i want to pursue as my "late" career more. there still are two things left to decide on but they could also work well together.
this is a biggie for me as i was struggling for years to find something to look forward to.

so let's see what 2014 will bring!

1. I turned 40 -- I guess that's an accomplishment, right? Or do I start counting down, lol. That's right, I'm actually 38 ;)
2. I started making significant efforts to help my mom improve her situation.
3. I started a new job (within the same company) which has stretched me and required me to adapt to a different culture.

Gah- this was actually pretty hard. 2013 has been a pretty awful year for me actually. :( But there has been a few good things. I guess I need to focus on them and forget all the sad stuff?

1.) We had the best corn crop we've ever grown. Actually found out last week that my husband won the national corn growers contest for the state of Oklahoma.
2.) Quit my job. SO MUCH HAPPIER focusing on my photography and being a farm wife.
3.) I had a really good year scrapping wise and got on a lot of CT that I really love!

Well, my number 1 was definitely giving birth to our third child, a beautiful little girl we named Heidi. This child is so incredibly perfect in every way :)
2. We took our first family holiday ever
3. I think just watching my older two kids change and grow this year. The younger one went from not speaking a word in January, to now speaking in clear, full sentences. The older one has made huge improvements in his understanding of letters/number/drawing and writing. Im so incredibly proud of them both, and watching them learn, and knowing i have a hand in that makes me so incredibly happy.

In my head 2013 was just ho-hum, but I need to focus on the positive!

1) Took the plunge and painted my whole downstairs, put in wood floors, painted the kitchen cabinets and "planked" the eating area. Still not 100% done but we love it so far and it's so much more us!
2) got a promotion at work and while it's been a lot more hours it has been a nice change of pace
3) Started scrapping again. I had been on hiatus for almost a year but I'm so glad to be back to creating and really looking forward to 2014!

Wow... this is hard for me... nothing really eventful happened this year, which is a good thing... and I feel more impactful stuff happened to other family members, than me.

1. With my extreme shyness for the sake of my son, and went to an informational meeting on Classical Conversations for my son. We decided to give it a go and signed up with it... I hit it off well with our director and she has pushed me to be more active. Babysitting the babies at our conference (and for me, it physically hurts to see babies because I want a second child and I can't... here I had to spent time with them and hold them... so hard!) And my director asked me to be the science and art coordinator for our homeschool group... which means I have to be outgoing and talk to people, I can't just hide in the corner.

2. Another push... I haven't been away from J since he was born... and again with the shyness... I pulled up my big girl panties and got on a plane (with Kim) to fly to Vegas for the SSD retreat... I'm so happy I went... but it was so nerve wracking... I only met Heather R IRL a few months before... I didn't "know" anyone else..

3. OH- number two reminded me of a third one... finally meeting Heather R. on our Seattle Trip! :)

I guess the biggest accomplishment I can say for 2013 is starting my 3 year degree in human services
2) passing all my courses this year
3) paying off all my debt (excluding student loan)

1. Trip to Vegas to meet some of my online friends finally after 7 years.

2. Becoming addicted to the gym

3. Meeting new friends here in El Paso.

There are other things that were big and happened, but these are the only ones i can share.

First and foremost becoming a grandma to Allison...loving' it.

Long process but Devlin' s eye issues are beginning to resolve themselves after lots of hard work

Our first family vacation and beginning to save for 2014

1. I met the love of my life! Truly!
2. I went to BlogHer and was able to really expand my career and find my place in the blogging world.
3. I managed to stick with my OLW for 2013 (Capture) and documented SO many perfect memories (and imperfect memories!) of my son's growth over the past year. My memories with him so far are priceless and I'm so excited to continue capturing my son's years to come.

It's hard to pick JUST three! There were so many great things that happened this year!

1. I got a statewide award at work. It was nice to see my accomplishments recognized and was very unexpected.
2. I got CT guest on some on my dream teams and continued on some amazing teams.
3. I made a lot of new connections and relationships in my work and on a personal level. That is big because I don't often make those connections easily especially in the line of work I am in. But I feel really close to my coworkers and that is great.

1. Got the position at work I have been working on getting for years.
2. bought my first brand new vehicle and it's an SUV.
3. celebrated 1 year in our first house.

1. Pregnancy (due next month!)
2. Bought our first car, a minivan, meaning we now have 2 cars so I can take kids places during the day.
3. Drove across the country for Thanksgiving. It took 3 long days of driving with 2 young kids, but there is nothing like seeing a bigger picture of the beautiful country you live in, and the kids were actually amazing.

A lot more good has happened, but all in relation to those 3 things.

Top 3 of 2013

1. Finally got to adopt our foster son and made him mine forever after 3 years of fighting for him.
2. Opened my own business (Taracotta Photography)
3. We relocated my husband's business and made it bigger and better!

Have to add one more because it happened last night.....
4. Welcome a new grandbaby in our family! Baby Eli is here and my step dd did amazing!

1. we moved out of our cramped little apartment into this lovely duplex. it's old and needs some help, but we're so much happier here.

2. our protection order that we've been having to go into court yearly for was approved for a 3 year period instead.

3.I cooked my first turkey dinner, and it was edible.

So much has happened this year.

1) Took a leap and made a decision that had been a long time coming. Despite the struggles that have come because of it, I wouldn't change it and am happier now than I have been in a long time. Made it through 8 months of the year as a single mother, including the major holidays, job and home changes.

2) Joined a group of ladies for a weekly Bible study. They have become invaluable.

3) Had fun. Learned a lot, laughed a lot.

Congrats on all the nice things that have happened to you or that you've accomplished this year. It was hard to pick just 3, but here are mine.

1. Learning to shoot in manual
2. Losing 20 lbs, half way to my goal
3. Getting my middle son's diagnosis of Smith-Magenis Syndrome. (I know that doesn't sound like a good thing, but we're in a better position to help him now that we understand the bigger picture. After 7 years of getting one special needs diagnosis after another, it's a relief to have an underlying genetic cause and know the limits of how he may be affected.)

1. Made it through a cross country move (from Georgia to Washington) with 3 kids, a puppy, a cat and 6 frogs! We lost most of our plants because I kept forgetting to water them, but that was it!

2. I reconciled with my sister who i hadn't talked to in about 3 years. We're not in a very good place still, but at least we're talking.

3. My last baby weaned herself from nursing and I don't have to nurse another kid ever again!

Top 3

1. My son got diagnosed with Autism (which gave us a name for some of his problems)
2. My son got diagnosed with Autism (starting seeing a child psychatrist which made his whole world better)
3. My son got diagnosed with Autism (starting taking medications to help him cope and started a specialized program and is doing extremly well thanks to the push of the district psychologist that got him diagnosed)

2013 was a rough year for me/us but there were a few shining points...

1. My dream came true in May when I became a babe! Best gig ever!!
2. My husband no longer works for the family business. This has seriously been the greatest blessing. Of course there are lots of challenges that came with the transition and whatnot, but it's all been worth it for him and us to no longer be imprisioned to his family!
3. We survived. This has been a really rough year with time periods that literally felt like one huge horrible thing after another. We're still surviving though. While things are not perfect or stress-less right now, I'm so happy to say that 2013 is over and we made it through.

Bring on 2014...hopefully it's a great year for us all!
