19 Kids & Counting... did you watch it?

I just finished watching the new special for the Duggars, and I cried like a baby through most of it! God, it brought back so many memories of my son... he was born premature and was a micro-preemie too (he weighed only 1 lb 15 oz). At the end when it showed the little baby in the isolette... jeez! I still have vivid memories of those NICU days and it still makes me an emotional wreck even though my son is a healthy 4 1/2 year old now!

Anyone else watch?

nope...think they have taken it just a little too far {no disrespect, but those are my feelings now}..I hope the baby is doing well...

They are in People Magazine this week..she's sooo tiny even now a month later..she's like 2lb 3oz or something

I agree that they have wayyy too many kids, but I still wanted to watch anyway :p

ETA: Way too many kids for me anyway, but if they can handle it, all the power to them!!!

I meant to watch, but forgot. I'm sure it will be on again (I probably won't be up at 11:00!)

Nope, I'm waiting until it's 27 Kids and Counting. Just kidding.

Hoping to catch it later. Between the Grammys and Football (Pro Bowl) my train wreck shows get over ruled.

I really hope the baby is ok. I do feel bad for the oldest kids who, in my opinion, never really got a childhood before they became "pseudo parent/buddies". I don't mean any disrespect either. I just don't think it's fair.

I have nothing really nice to say about the Duggars (trust me, no one here wants to hear that rant from me), but I find their show to be like a train wreck sometimes. I didn't watch tonight, but I do hope that the little one continues to do well.

I watched it, so glad to see on here it was repeated later in the evening. It was an emotional episode for me - I was so worried about our twins coming too early. I was amazed at how tiny she was and how small she looked in the incubator at the end of the episode.

In regards to some of the comments above - it's not a lifestyle choice I would embrace but I do enjoy the show and I respect their choice. Having tons of children is hardly something to criticize compared to some of the terrible and neglectful parenting that is out there.

I respect the decision that they have made for their family. There are many others that live this way they just are not on TV. They are not using/taking fetility meds, they just allow God to bless them. I would rather watch their story unfold in place of others (Jon & Kate, Octomom, ect) that have IMO defied nature to have that many kids.

I totally agree with you. Having that many kids is not for me, but the Duggars aren't unique in their situation. There are many, many families that have the same belief system and lifestyle. I appreciate the fact that they live debt free and seem to have it all together and I respect them for how passionate they are about their faith.

Just clarifying my comments... They really have nothing to do with their family size or the fact that they're "quiverfull." Well, with one exception. They have several children who need that momma at home, and it doesn't appear to the outsider that her body has been given ample time to rest and recover after these last few sections and pregnancies.

There are other things that their family is very open about in their book and in a few of their specials or on their website that I absolutely don't agree with and where my real issues with them are. One of them is blanket training. Google it. So, yes, I can applaud them that they appear to be a very happy, well-balanced family standing firm on their beliefs, but there are somethings I cannot agree with, at all.

And with that, I need to stay out of this conversation.:p
