14 GB in TEMP files!

Someone shared this at DST and I wanted to pass it along because I know we can all use some extra HD space!! I had no idea, but I guess PS can create lots of humongo temp files on your computer, so someone posted this tip:

Go to Start Menu>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup
Select the files you want to dump...

And I freed up OVER 14 GB! Wow. Coolio.

I used CCleaner on my sister's comp the other day and deleted SEVENTY EIGHT gigs of temp files. No. I. Am. Not. Kidding.

WOW! That's insane Traci! lol! I have that so maybe I should run it. Does it just pick up a lot that the other things miss or something??

I have CCleaner at home and love it. I def need to clear out temp files on this work computer though. *goes off to do this now*

Mine only cleaned out 573 MB, but this laptop is only about a month & half old, but still, that's half a gig! Great tool! Thanks for the info!! :)

I do this quite regularily and am always amazed at how much space is taken up with temp files! If I've been on a scrapping frenzy the temp files really start to chew up the memory!

I just ran CCleaner the other day (after not doing it for a couple weeks) and got rid of 2.5 GB...it's crazy how quickly that stuff accumulates!

Amanda, it's a program that cleans off useless files...you can also use it to see what's running at startup (if you're having trouble with a slow startup) and get rid of it, delete programs, clear cookies, etc from in there. It's a great little tool...and it's free!

I use Norton to do all that stuff for me, but I also just got a new computer this past weekend. I'm not too concerned with it being too dirty.:p
