Default Good Reads Question

I know quite a few of you use Good Reads. I use LibraryThing, but no one I know is using it, so I'm considering switching. I know you can get book recommendations from other users, but does Good Reads have a "read-alike" feature? Like a "if you liked this book, we recommend this book," or "readers who liked this book, also liked this book," or even a "if you love this author, check out this other author."

Thanks for the help!

Well, LibraryThing doesn't do it either, Celeste But I thought it Good Reads did, that THAT would get me over there no problem. I mean, come on! Even Amazon has a "customers who bought this, also bought this!" feature. Oh well. Libraries usually have tons of read-alike lists, but I kinda wanted a site that did it all!

actually library thing does. if you open a book in your library and look underneath to the left, you can click on recommendations and it will give you 25ish books that are similar to your book.

Huh! I've used LT for over 6 months now and have never noticed this! Thank you, thank you! Think I'll just stick with LT, as the thought of adding all my books to Good Reads is a little intimidating (over 400 books).

You can export your books to a csv file and then import them into Goodreads.

1. Go to the More tab.
2. Click on Import/Export
3. Clickon export as a CSV

Then in Goodreads go to My Books click on Import on the left hand edge.

Switching is easy!

The more I'm actually looking at LibraryThing and seeing what all I can do, I love it! It has series pages and recommendations, author pages. Love it! I paid for a lifetime membership (only $25), so I might as well use it (you can use it for free, but I think there's a 200 book limit or something near that). Just wish more people I knew used it.

Hmm. I may do this and just use both sites. One can never have enough book recommendations!
