We are away from any family so we don't do traditional holiday dinners. We are gonna have grilled caribbean jerk chicken over white rice

Don't barf, Lauren...

We're having a rack of lamb (we're providing), brisket, scalloped potatoes, cole slaw, carrot souffle (not really souffle, but sort of mashed sweet potatoes..carrot-style), carrot cake, and whatever other sides folks are bringing. Big family gathering! I love these more and more as I get older.

We don't really celebrate Easter in a big way (at least not in a religious way), but we usually go to my inlaws for dinner. This year, I think we are having ham and a chocolate fondue. They also hide eggs for the children to find.

I've been so busy, and we just now have a kitchen back since my dh was working on the floor, so I picked up a ham from Costco. That's it! I'll probably have to go shopping after work tonight, unless my dh decides to plan the menu and go himself. Hell might freeze over before that happens though!

We are doing Easter at my parent's house and we're having Ham, scalloped potatoes, fresh green beans, rolls and salad. My uncle is making a triple berry whiskey cobbler in his cast iron stuff for desert!

Tomorrow we will go to DH's aunt's house for breakfast and dinner.

Breakfast is Bacon Egg Rings (cook bacon until crisp tender, put 1 or 2 pieces in each circle of a muffin tin, crack an egg into each circle and bake until eggs are hard), Baked Blueberry French Toast, and fresh fruit salad.

Dinner will be Ham, German Potato Salad, Cranberry Pineapple Jello Salad, Rolls and green salad and who knows what else... they usually make a ton of food.

We're going out for Easter Brunch at a local restuarant. I think it is buffet style but their holiday buffets are well beyond what you think of when you think of a buffet. Like gourmet buffet.

Usually we have lamb but we got our order in late and the lambs won't be ready until the end of the month (we get a whole lamb, pre butchered from a local farm)

Here we have a tradition to eat cod for Easter celebrations. This remains an antique costume: to avoid red meat during all Easter's week. So we already ate cod on Good Friday and we will have it on Sunday too.

I personally don't follow those traditions, but I love cod. I can use an excuse or two to have loads of cod in my plate any day of the week

My mom is cooking this year and I think she's doing

italian beef sandwiches
a small ham
macaroni salad
deviled eggs
a fruit plate
peas

And I think we are just counting on easter candy for dessert. We're keeping it pretty simple this year - I am just not up for tons of cooking, cleaning my house is about all I can manage!

holy crow, thanks for sharing your feasts!

I decided to do a brunch because it will appease the meat eaters of the house and the non-meat eaters... plus my boys are so dang picky, i figured it might just save me some arguing on Easter, which I think Jesus would appreciate quite frankly

So on my list so far is.... (i try to vegan-ize (no dairy/eggs) as much as possible)
lemon-blueberry mini muffins
french toast waffles
perfect hashbrowns
loads o' fruit
spring pilaf w/ salmon & asparagus (for hubs & jessica)
maybe a grilled ham steak for him too? i dunno yet (i'm having a hard time caving on meat stuff, but he is SUCH a meat-eater... but did have tofu in his fajitas this week, so i feel like I can sorta justify it... i dunno....)
grapefruit brulee (dude justin LOVES effen grapefruit!)
crescent rolls filled w/ all fruit jam
homemade lemonade/oj

then something desserty later on

think that's enough for a family of 5?!?! bwahhahah OINK

Its just me, my son and his dad, I am making a turkey loaf and potatos. I also bought a Sara Lee pumpkin pie cause my son has been obsessed with pumpkin ever since i picked up a pumpkin candle and since his dad and I love it, too, we thought we would indulge him.

Rochelle, I was thinking of going the same place. Maybe I will see you there. lol

Even though we don't have family or friends around I make a special dinner on these special occassions.

Good Friday we had Salmon Terriyaki with a noodle stirfry and sushi.

For lunch today I will use some of the hard boiled eggs to make some egg salad sandwiches.
For dinner we have:
Lamb steaks marinated in red wine
Pommes de Anna
and snow peas with roasted almonds and honey
Chocolate cake with sour cream/chocolate frosting

Tomorrow:
slow cooked beef with barley (happens to be this is also with red wine)
Parpadelle
and a nice salad

That was my Easter dinner plan but am thinking now of broccoli instead of green beans because I just realized I have two bags of frozen broccoli in my freezer and only half a bag of green beans. Just the three of us so it won't be anything big or fancy.

Oh, we're having my favorite: whatever someone else cooks! *lol* We're having dinner at my ILs'. I know cheesy potatoes are on the menu and, frankly, don't care what else there is as long as I get a big helping of that!

I'm bringing The Best Brownies Ever (melted choc chips + melted butterscotch chips + Rice Krispies on top of marshmallow fluff on top of brownies), though, so I'm pumped abt that. This is our first time trying out BC's new gluten-free mixes, so hopefully, they won't be too bad. It freaked me out how thick the batter was, like marshmallow fluff consistency and stickiness, but the box said to expect that, sooooo... we'll see tomorrow afternoon!

Well for the last 25 years we have gone to MIL and FIL house for Easter. MIL passed away in January ... his sisters did not call and invite us ... so I invited my mom to our house (since she will be moving to AZ soon and won't be here for any future Easters) ... this is not my usual holiday to make things...

We're having:

-Honey Baked Ham (YUM)
-Scalloped potatoes (mom is making)
-Deviled eggs (just got back from mom's house...she showed me how she has always made them)
-Boiled eggs (one kiddo doesn't like anything but boiled)
-Green bean casserole
-Velveeta Shells & Cheese (for the kids)
-Hawaiian rolls
-Egg rolls
.......haven't thought about dessert yet ... so you're not the latest getting ready lol I'm just not in the mood to cook right now.

Bought some strawberry hill povitica breads for breakfast.

everything sounds so yummy. we dont really do much for easter really. When I was a kid we all went to my great grandparents house where my grandma would cook up enough food for 100 people at least and then some home with everyone who comes. I miss those meals. We might go to my inlaws tomorrow. I havent really thought about it.

We had a honey baked ham with potatoes. We are headed a little later to have strawberry cheesecake at Pappas Burgers. They have HUGE cheesecake. DH and I both gave up sweets and desserts for Lent so we have been waiting for this!! :-)

We did a traditional breakfast at our place with family - bacon, eggs, pancakes, mushrooms etc

Then I also did chicken, roast beef, quiche, pasta salad, potato salad, and a green salad (all gluten free! - my sister is gluten intolerant!) and also made chocolate cheesecake and trifle (also GF) for dessert!

Probably why I was was in bed at 7:30pm
