Summer SAT - Waiting Room #1 - The Polaroid Challenge *Winner Announced*

I'm so excited to be getting things started with your first scrap challenge of the summer!

I've always been the crafty type and have dabbled in most of the artsy hobbies out there. My current obsession outside of scrapbooking is cute and cozy coloring! I am crazy for the massive amounts of colors available in markers and something about taking a cute and simple coloring page and making it something special just really keeps my brain (and hands) happy!

Right now, there is a big trend in the coloring world that I think would make for spectacularly eye catching scrapbook pages too, so I thought we could try it!

It's called "the polaroid challenge" and it's all about creatively cropping a portion of the page with a polaroid frame to draw the eye to what you want the viewer to REALLY see.

I have some examples for you...

I think it's pretty self explanatory, but today, I want you to scrap a page that puts this effect to work on your next layout! Here's a simple sketch...

Like the sketch above shows, using ONE giant photo for the background of your layout and then using a polaroid, frame the focal point of your image to draw the viewer's eye to it.

Feel free to shadow and embellish your polaroid. Add titlework or journal strips, etc. We can do so much with this basic concept with all of the tools at our disposal, so get creative and have fun with it!
