I got this for my 6th birthday:

Otherwise I was more of an artist, I got Spirographs, those things where you laid the plates down and made rubbings, lots of those color your own posters...

This is me at my 7th birthday party - yeah, yeah, in the pixie hair (my mom tricked me! I had hair down to my waist and she was just going to "trim" it - I still have that 22" of hair she cut off!)

So the Little Kiddles in the photo - those were my fav. I still have 2 of them.

I was a Barbie girl. My dad still has bought me a Barbie every year for Christmas since I was three (I am almost 40 LOL!) The year I got married - wedding Barbie, the year I became manager of the credit card department he got me a Mastercard Barbie, the year my son was born... well.. you get the picture.

These were my favorites growing up:
Barbie McDonalds

and the ever amazing Barbie Dreamhouse!

My very favorite was my Cabbage Patch Newborn. Her name was Rachel!

The other thing was my play kitchen with Fisher Price food, grill, plates & cutlery. I played with that for HOURS with my sister & brother!

Definitely my Cabbage Patch Kids, with Barbies coming in a close second. Here's DD meeting my oldest CPK (Cornelie Meghan) when she got her first one.

But like Jen, I was a book kid. From about 2nd to 4th grade I devoured Nancy Drew books.

I loved my barbies and was so excited when my mom bought me a Barbie Townhouse just because. I can remember holding the big box so tightly as we walked to the check out to pay for it....I felt like we were the richest family in the world! lol.....

Defintaly Strawberry Shortcake... I have the whole collection except for one - the one with glasses.

Otherwise...

Just got my lite brite out of storage for kiddo to play with.. now I will have to look on ebay for more sheets. LOL!

I LOVED these games... I had like 3 or 4 of them...

I remember playing with these all the time during the summer...

Mine was named Sara Celia... I was so mad that my mom made a bunch of cabbage patch clothes for my cousin than me...

And my pride and joy... Duke of Hazzard cars... I LOVED this show and I even had the plastic maze sheets that when on the etchasketch where you had to Beau and Luke out of trouble...

ETA... Barbies for me wasn't until I was older... I did get this pool for my first eye surgery at age 7, I think...

But then I didn't keep my barbies picked up and my mom took them away for a few years... I think I was like 12 before I got them back... I then started collecting them in High school/college... now I wish I didn't. I have 100+ dolls downstairs and no one wants to buy... so every year a box full of dolls goes to goodwill...

I was a Barbie girl!
Other than Barbie, I'd say it was my Fisher Price play kitchen set...I used to LOVE playing house with that.
And My Little Ponies, Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, my Light Brite.

Oh and Puppy Surprise! I used to love getting new ones to see how many puppies my "dog" would have. lol

I was an only child til I was 6 1/2 so I was spoiled! I won't lie, and I'm not ashamed. I had EVERYTHING! We had an inclosed porch that was specifically my play room and it was covered in toys. I even had a Smurf picnic table that we kept inside during the winter.

*sigh* is it just me or are toys just not the same these days?

Lily is alot like you, traci... she really couldn't be bothered much with toys but she loves to get crafting kits etc and just spends her time doing that sorta stuff... she has a doll house but has rarely touched it. She used it ocassionly
for littlest pet shops but never for barbies.

Little People- especially the Sesame Street edition. I actually broke my arm on it.

I had 8 Cabbage Patch kids so I guess you can say I like those.

When I wasn't playing with dolls, reading or riding my bike I was teaching my younger brothers. I had a huge chalkboard (was from an old school) on the playroom wall and I would make them sit in chairs and listen to my lessons.

Ditto here. I have gobs. Darn eBay ruined the collectibles market for many things.

My favorites were my Cabbage Patch doll (it had weird hair that you could crimp), My Little Ponies, POPPLES, Pound Puppies, Strawberry Shortcake... Most of the old toys are sitting in my daughter's closet, just waiting for her to get a little older so she can have them. My son already has my old Pound Puppy, he sleeps with it every night and my daughter has my Cabbage Patch doll already.
I love the layout, Nikki, now I want to do a layout like that!!!
