I was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 27, 1977 but that almost didn’t happen. Before my mom
knew she was pregnant she was very sick and had to take many trips to her doctors office. She had to see her gynecologist group because her bloodwork was showing dangerously high hCG levels. One of the doctors informed her that she had a type of cancer caused from an abnormal form of pregnancy called a
Hydatidform Mole and had to go into surgery to have it removed. Luckily, there was a German doctor visiting and working with my mother’s doctors. Dr.
Eberhard Mueller-Heubach, MD told the other doctors that he would love to see my mother because of his concern and interest in her condition. It was this
wonderful doctor who informed all of the other doctors that they were wrong and that my mother’s condition was not cancer from Hydatidform Mole but was an embryo. This doctor saved my life before I was even brought into the world!
(I can't believe that first doctor had mistaken me for cancer!)
