[i]I didn’t have a clue about what
I was getting myself into when I
decided I would become a parent.
It wasn’t something that just ‘happened’
the way it did with most of my friends.
John and I made the choice. It was
definitely not a matter of great debate.
A month into our marriage we literally
said, “Hey! Let’s make a baby!”
Sounded pretty darn fun to me.
Of course, I had no idea what I was
getting myself into. I had no idea I
would be so changed as a person...
so stretched and challenged and
overwhelmed with the job. Would I
go back and change anything? I really
don’t know. Maybe if I was guaranteed
that I’d have the exact same baby I
might have waited till John and I had been
married for a year, but I really can’t say
that it would have been ‘better’ that way.
I’m so happy with how my life has turned
out. Deciding to be a mom was the best
leaf of faith I’ve ever taken.[/i]
