February 28, 2023: Lunch at The Tuscan Oven after Mama’s appt with the surgical oncologist.. We’re smiling, but our hearts are breaking. Dr. Villegas saw Mama today and told her that the cancer in her liver near her portal vein was inoperable. We held ourselves together, but then cried after the appt. Mama was, as usual, calm during the chaos. She provided an unflappable reassurance that everything was happening as it should, resting in her faith, letting God hold all her worries.
