on dog tags: FREEDOM ISN'T FREE
The Korean War veterans Memorial is located in Washington, D.C.'s West Potomac Park, SE of the Lincoln Memorial and just south of the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall. It was dedicated July 27, 1995, 42 years after the armistice was signed.
This is one of the five parts of the memorial, the "Field of Service," with 19 stainless steel statues sculpted by Frank Gaylord of VT. They represent an ethnic cross-section of America and memorializes those who served in the Korean War.
