What a fun tradition! I have never been able to eat the gingerbread (gluten!), and lately, we have been hot-gluing them together because icing takes too long and is fiddly. I mean, we use it to put the candy on, but the house itself gets glue. I love the way you scrapped this--the title is funny and caught my eye.
HOW FUN! I thought I commented on this - maybe I didn't hit send. But I love the idea of this, like Ally my daughter and I are unable to do gluten. We've made them but never can eat. I'm inspired to try to make our own like you did.
