Journaling:
Most of Thanksgiving is a blur in my mind this year. I was woken up that morning by a scream and then Jason running up the stairs to me. He'd hit his eye on the corner of the stone counter, and it started to swell quite a bit within moments. There were
multiple discussions on whether we needed to take him to the ER. Finally the pediatrician settled it by phone, telling us he probably didn't need any medical treatment, but we should ice every hour for 24 hours and expect a lot more swelling and
discoloration. Jason has never been a good patient; he hated the icing and fussed anytime someone mentioned his eye. We heard a lot of comments about how he needed to be with Mommy and only Mommy since he was hurt. (He recovered enough to enjoy Ryan's toys and dessert, of course.) The day passed in a haze of ice packs, food, and gratitude he wasn't seriously hurt.

OUCH! What a shiner! Great job of journaling this. I know in our family, these memories generally end up an oft discussed part of family history, usually with a chuckle once it's a distant memory.
