this is my scar from my hemithyroidectomy (removal of one of the two thyroid glands). Photos taken now, and the day I came home from the hospital in 2006, 4 days after my surgery. I have been fortunate that my thyroid levels have managed to be maintained without medications, and I hope that I will be able to stay med free forever (because once I start them, I will be on them for the rest of my life).
