Thank you so much for your kind words my friend. That means a lot to me.
yes, it is really sad. When we visit her and we leave... I just want to take her home and tell her it will be alright. It makes me so sad that I can't do that. The thing is... due to the dementia, she doesn't understand what's going on anymore. She doesn't understand coronavirus or why we wear masks.
I can totally understand how you are feeling about your Summer plans. I think going to Center Parcs for a day is a great idea. But like you said... the rules are difficult. And how are people going to take distance in a swimming pool? So, yes, I feel the same way about it as you do.
And I think going to a museum and visit a castle or two are great ideas as well! Personally, I think it's even safer than going to Center Parcs.
What kind of museum would you like to visit? Something historical or science? I love museums myself and I often think that I don't visit them enough.
On one hand, you want your kids to have a fun and great Summer vacation. But on the other hand, you just want everyone to be safe. It's a thin line and it's hard sometime to find balance.
Malouke also goes back to school on September 1st. (That is, if it's safe to go).
She was home from March 14th until June 2nd. In June her class was devided into two groups. One group had lessons in the morning, the other group in the afternoon.
It was the only way they could garantee social distancing. And it was like that until the end of the schoolyear.
They don't have extra lessons in August, like N and O have. They just start on September 1st.
But how are you doing sweetie? Can you free your mind? Are you hanging in there? I'm thinking of you!
Lots of love
Big hug
Your friend from Belgium
Sorry Sweetie, I take time to answer but it was a busy week and N starts to have new fears..
The next week is busy too and I feel myself anxious thinking of it! lol!
I think you are busy too as I see you didn't have lot of time to scrap.
Again, I'm so sorry for your grandmother..
It must be really hard and difficult to leave her, I totally understand.
This is so bad she had dementia, she must feel lost with this crisis, it must have change all the little marks she could have.
I wish you lots of courage for this difficult time.
For the holidays, I think we won't go to center Parc, people doesn't respect the social distanciation here's.
I feel a little lost because N is totally anxious about this and we try to go out eating in her fave restaurant.
It was ok, people follow the rules, there was distanciations and all.
Then we just go by car in a city near for showing her things were nearly normal and we were shock to see lots of people were drinking all in group, no wearing mask, no distanciation, nothing except it was crowded.. Like if all was normal. N decide to keep her mask even in the car. I try to explain her she wasn't in risk but she was so scare..
My mother and I decide it would be probably the same in Center Parc and we are scare but try not showing her.
They starts talking about the second wave for the end of summer or september/ october, they already said the back to school will be the same as it was before holidays and maybe in bad case, homeschool.. Just knowing that makes me anxious.
How is it in Belgium?
What do you think of this kind of behavior?
About Museum, we are the same!lol! I love it too but don't take enough time to visit them lol!
N want to visit a museum about history of magic. Think it look interesting and funny. We also find one about prehistoric time that looks great.
I will tell you if we finally go or not! lol!
What about you? What kind of museum do you like?
Are you planning to visiting some with Malouke?
I so agree with you, that thin line is very difficult to find balance!
I see what you mean for Malouke school! They start a little like this here and then for the last 2 weeks decide it was obligatory and stop a lot the distanciation. Fortunately as they are twin, they said they can stay together as they are from the same family and they weren't too mix up with the other kids but we were invited to school and to be honest it was a mess..
Malouke school seems safer!
Were she happy to go back to school?
I try to find time but I admit actually it is a little complicated, normally next week should be smoother.
What about you Sweetie? Are you still working from home?
Aren't you too tired?
I'm thinking of you too! I'm so happy to read you each time!
I wish you a great week and hope you'll find time for you too!
I send you big hugs and lots of love! Take care about you and your family!
My sweet friend,
I'm going to answer your message as soon as possible! I have the week off and I'm not around my computer much. But I'm still thinking of you and your sweet kids.
Talk to you really soon!
Hey Sweetie,
I'm so happy you have a week off! Don't worry about message, enjoy you free time for you and having fun (and maybe rest lol).
I think of you too and I hope you have great time with your love ones Sweetie!
Take care and have lot's of fun!
I'm so sorry for not writing you back sooner.
I've been soooo busy. I had to work this week and things were crazy. Because of the corona cases are growing bigger again. I causes me a lot of extra work and most of my co-workers are on vacation. But I made it... Just a few more hours of work and than I have a week off.
How are you doing my friend?
Can you find time to breath and relax and take care of yourself?
I'm so so sorry to read N is having so much fear and axiety about the pandemic. I can totally understand that you are feeling lost about this.
I'm happy to read you all went to eat in her favorite restaurant and that it went well, but I hate to read it was so crowded in the city. I'm so sorry to read it scared it.
And I don't understand people... how many people must die before this is taken seriously. It's hard to understand as an adult, so it must be even harder to understand as a child.
I hope all of this ends soon so N can have a normal life again.
Yeah, it will probably be the same in Center Parcs. At least, I think in Belgium it will be the same.
People really seem to think the virus is gone. I don't understand that.
The second wave is happening in Belgium already. That's why I had sooo much for this week. We are preparing to communicate again. There are more restrictions now than two weeks ago. Going to a restaurant will be harder with more restrictions. Masks have to be worn in public, not only in shops, but everywhere outside.
We have no information about going back to school and how it will be, but I don't think it will be like it was before corona. I think it will be more or less the same as before the holidays.
We have to work from home until the end of August. I asked my boss... what about September? Can we go back to the office in September? She said, probably not. Things won't be back to normal until next year. They make a decision about work from home/go back to the office on August 10th.
I have never heard about a museum about the history of magic, but it looks interesting and so much fun. Yes, let me know how it went!
I love museums as well. I love the museums of natural history. And I like art museums and science museums.
We've visited some museums with Malouke. Hydrodoe, it's a museum about water with all kinds of tests and stuff. She visited a museum about the history of chocolate with her grandmother. And she has visited Technopolis, a museum about technology, also with all kinds of tests. She loves it, but we haven't visited a lot of them.
I'm sending you lots of love and a big hug.
Take care my friend!!
