Instead of making individual strips, I started with a 6x12 size "mat".....then placed a full size 12x12 paper.....slid it to the right....then placed my next full size paper.....added a shadow.....slid it to the right, leaving a little bit of the first paper showing. Once I did this with several sheets, I linked them, duplicated them and repeated until the entire 6x12 mat was covered. Then I merged all the layers and added it to my layout.
