This was one of those parenting moments where I had to choose
to be either really angry or really cracked-up. I don’t
particularly like being angry, so I went with the latter.
Eden and I were at Blockbuster and she was playing with all
those dang candies they have sitting out. She was (surprise)
begging for a stick of candy that had a twirly fan on one
end. No, no, no I said over and over. We are here to get
movies. I turn around to pay and when I turn back to her
OHMYGOSH she has her hair all tangled and wound up in
the fan of that thing. I mean, snarled up there right to
the root of her hair. I tried and tried to undo it but
she was screaming because it hurt. So, yep, I had to ask
one of the teenagers behind the desk
for a pair of scissors. I actually cut my
child’s hair out of a stick of candy.
You
can’t
put
that on a
work resume, but it deserves
it. After I cut it out I
stood there holding the candy
with her hair sticking out of
the fan. I silently put it
on the desk, paid for
it and brought it home.
