Four and half. Actually you’re four years & eight months old now...where did the time go? You are my sweet little poppet and in a few short months you will be starting school. I’m not ready. I don’t want you to go. I don’t. I’m going to miss you. You’re my little shadow - so full of love and trust and faith - it’s going to be as big an adjustment for me as it is for you. Some mums can’t wait for their kids to grow up and go to school. I’m not one of them. I love you beyond reasoning. I love being with you. I love your little hand tucked in mine and the way you call me “Mamalade”. I love our little made up songs and the way you say “It’s just you and me today” after we’ve dropped Brooke at school, like it’s the best thing in the world. I know you going to school isn’t really going to change the things that matter most, but it’s a sign you’re growing up, and being the baby of the house, it’s a little hard for mummy to deal with. You will always be my little poppet though, and I will always be your Mamalade, thinking of you as my baby, and loving you with everything I have. 13/8/11.
