07.24: Sunday: I talked matt into taking the kids to Cranberry Lake even though he complained most of the way there. But the weather was beautiful and how could would pass up such a great day. Plus since summer seems to have skipped us by already I figure you better take advantage of the great weather when we can because you never know when the rain will be back! So we made it out with snacks, lunch, towels, buckets and bathing suits around 1230 pm. We took the scenic route towards Sedro Woolley and then headed down 20 towards Deception Pass. We then realized as we went through the Deception Pass Park that we had to have a day use pass at the cost of $10 so Matt dropped of me, Abby & Peyton and then went to Wal-Mart and got us a yearly pass for $30. He and Ben stopped and Taco Bell and got a quick snack and then met us back at the lake. Matt got them 2 little blow up floaties and they thought they were something else after that! Ben put his goggles on and swam all the way out to the rope and back more than once. We also went on the other side of the lake which is actually the ocean and the kids stood in that until we decided they weren’t being very careful and took them, back to the lake side. We let them swim for probably another 20 mins and then left and went down to the water under Deception Pass and let them throw rocks. No sooner did we get down there and Abby had to pee and Peyton decided to go wild with throwing rocks! So we left and took Abby to pee and headed to the NEX where we called and told Sam we were gonna pick her up at John’s house. Peyton fell asleep before we got to the NEX! They were pretty good for the most part and once Peyton found a CARS toy he wanted he was pretty good the rest of the trip :) Abby on the other hand was tired and really wanted to get out of the cart! But we convinced her to find something she wanted, glow in the dark silly bands, and then she was ok with staying in! Matt found 2 pair of shoes he liked, actually I like one of them and convinced him to get them, and then we found Abby a backpack for school and Ben got some new Yugio cards. So we picked Sam up and headed home. Took the scenic route through Mount Vernon and then had chili dogs, mac-n-cheese and baked beans for dinner! We asked Peyton:”did you have fun today”, his response “ahhhh haaaaa”. I got pretty sun burnt and it looks like Peyton may have gotten a little extra sun on his shoulders, but overall it was a GREAT day! Matt tried on his new shoes and likes them and then headed to bed with the rest of the kids. So at 11:43 pm I am journaling this day, done with my homework for the weekend and listening to Pandora and enjoying some ME time. So here is to tomorrow and the beginning of a Week In the Life of the Miller 6 pack! Peyton went to bed with a diaper on tonight since he hasn’t pooped all day and the last thing I want to do is clean up a poopy Peyton and bed.
