Edward's Grandfather passed away Christmas Eve 2004 about ten minutes before midnight. He missed his birthday by a few days, he was a new year's baby. We had just gotten home from visiting him when we received a call from the hospital telling us to get back quickly. Edward's parents, brother, Edward and I headed back, but by the time we arrived it was too late. We were with him for little while saying goodbye. As we were walking out of the hospital, just after midnight, it began to snow. I believe the news said it had been 100 years since it last snowed in Brownsville. Edward likes to believe that it was his grandfather's Christmas Miracle meant just for us.
