The last six months of 2010 were at total write off. I became very sick. If I had known back in June that the dizzy spell was more than a one off incident I would have done something about it but as you do you just battle on with life. During July &
August I was feeling fine again but in September it really started to make itself known – I was tired and dizzy all the time. During that time I barely left the house except to try and go to work which was a total disaster each time. October rolled around and I was still very sick so decided the best course of action was to resign from my job as I felt I was letting them down. One day in November I was in so much pain & my family was very concerned about me that I decided the best course of action was to head to hospital. While I was there I was diagnosed and treated for extreme anemia.
One thing I never did was tell my family why I didn't do anything about it.Part of the reason I didn't do anything about how sick I was is I was worried about what it could be (I thought it may have been anemia, gluten intolerence or lactose intolerence) , also I was going through financial difficulties while waiting for government
financial assistance so going to a doctor was out of my reach.
Now that I am healed I am taking a far better approach to my health – eating better, drinking more water, taking vitamins, exercising more by joining a gym & going to
aquarobics. I am also going to my local doctor and specialists a lot more regularly.
This has taught me to slow down and listen to my body and most of all take care of it.
