Interesting things I've done:
Joined the Army straight from school
Gone for 3 weeks without a shower or bath
Stayed awake for 36 hours straight and then hallucinated from tiredness
Eaten camel meat
Won Top Medic Award
Learnt Sign Language (then forgot it)
Carried a pack weighing half my body weight for a week
Had a rat run over my legs while sleeping
Diagnosed leprosy and yaws
Treated Malaria, heat exhaustion and various other tropical diseases
Witnessed firsthand the effects of armed conflict
Sewed people back together
Seen dead bodies lying in the street
Eaten Lobster in the middle of the desert
Been places where the villagers had never seen a white woman before
Been the first female to fly into combat on chinook helicopters
Treated friendly forces and enemy forces for gunshot wounds
Received a New Zealand Order of Merit for medical services in East Timor
Been the first female to deploy in the field with 2/1 RNZIR
Been the first medic to deploy on operations with __________ since Vietnam
Dreamed of my husband for 15 years prior to actually meeting him
Been in 4 vehicle accidents
Walked for 11 hours up and down the Hong Kong hills with full pack destroying my knees in the process
Worked in a Gurghka Medical Unit
Worked in an Australian SAS Med Unit for three months
Been in 40 degree C heat
Been so cold my teeth ached from shiverring
Felt a mother bear type protectiveness for the soldiers in my unit
Gave birth to two children I would give my life for in an instant
