A couple of years ago, when the utility company put in the water line, they lacked sufficient easement to put in a fire hydrant. Kip negotiated with them and the company made a contribution to our landscaping project. It was supposed to be low maintenance, but that isn’t how it turned out. I have struggled gallantly to keep it weeded. During this year’s summer storms the weeds overpowered me and the purple leaf plum fell over for the third time. I surrender to Mother Nature!
