Journaling reads:
We bought this house in April 2005. I was about 5 months pregnant with Nathan. We moved from our first home on Wheeler Street to here
after we knew we’d need more room. It has four bedrooms, one of which we use as a family room, two bathrooms, a formal dining room,
and a finished basement. In a few weeks, we’ll have been here for five years - time is just flying. It took us a good couple of years to feel
like this was our home and make it our own. In 2007, we had a privacy fence put in the backyard so the dog could run around freely and we
could enjoy the backyard a little more since there is a public walkway between our house and our neighbor’s house. In 2008, we installed a new
furnace and air-conditioner from Brubaker’s. In the spring and summer of 2009, we painted our shutters and front door in green (of course, because we’re big Michigan State University fans) and because they really needed it We also took out some old bushes and trees and put in some new landscaping. I’m really excited to see how it all looks this spring and summer as it will be well-established. Our neighbors to the east of us are the Adewei’s. They are generally pretty quiet, with the exception of one of their sons who has friends with loud cars and music. To our west is Pat Schimmelman and her daughter Martha. They love seeing the boys grow up and have to say hi whenever they get the chance. Across the street is the character in our neighborhood - Kris Opitz and her husband Gary. We rarely see Gary, but Kris is always outside in strange outfits doing yardwork. We already have so many memories made in this house - it is the boys’ first home, the home where we’ve had their birthday parties, the home where we’ve painted rooms and made it our own. I can only hope that the boys grow up with fond memories of it.
