Loser

This is for the SWTSB "Kids Say the Darndest Things" challenge.

I was going to go silly with it because of all the outrageous things my oldest son says, but then it took a life of its own and this is the quote that I used. Its a bit dark, but I wanted to document this time in his life.

"Mama, can we just change my name to loser?"

Journaling reads: You asked me this question on morning at breakfast. It broke my heart to hear you say something so derogatory about yourself, but I knew where it was coming from. For the first five weeks of kindergarten, you really struggled with your writing. Being the sensitive boy that you are, it caused your self-esteem to plummet, resulting in comments like this one. But after a few weeks of frustration and hard work, you caught up to your classmates and your confidence soared. You still get easily discouraged when you don't "get" something right away, but this trial has taught you a very good lesson: Never Give Up. And you don't, my sweet boy. You never give up and you always try your best. And, like your daddy and I have said time and time again, that is all that matters to us. We are so proud of you, Cameron.
