I don't need to tell you they lost...
This is my Week 5 Stand Up Layout.
My son's team lost the NY State Championship Game by one point in overtime -- on a bad call, no less. Our boys were devastated. In the background you can see the other team celebrating. (My son is #34, standing with hands on his hips (it's hard to see in this tiny photo but, yes, he's crying.) The head coach is in the gray sweatshirt watching the other team embracing as his boys begin to fall apart.
Each time I look at this photo, even a year later, my eyes well up with tears. I will never forget the raw emotion of 48 big, tough high school football players dissolving into tears.
