Journaling: October 2006, two years ago. It’s kind of weird to think about just how different our life was back then. We had been living in Seoul, South Korea for 10 months at that point, with only two months to go. We were definitely on the home stretch of our adventure. October was an unusually busy month for us. We spent a week visiting Japan (which was awesome!) and then my parents came to visit us in Korea. In a lot of ways it’s hard to believe it’s actually been two years...and yet at the same time it feels like a lifetime ago. So much has happened since then. We moved back to the States, bought our very first home, survived our first Iraq deployment...I even hosted Thanksgiving at my house. Our daily life here is definitely less challenging than it was in Korea. It’s certainly nice to be able to just stop by Target when we need something! My parents are actually coming here to Colorado to visit in a few days and while I know our adventures here will likely not be as crazy as they were in Korea (no trips to North Korea, palaces or crazy temple walking tours), I’m sure there’s plenty more adventures to be found here in Colorado. Journaled October 9, 2008.
