was anyone else here addicted to those made for tv movies/lifetime movies?

There were a couple I had recorded on vhs as a kid/teen and would watch them SO SO much!

There are a few that stand out in my mind..

these two were based on real stories:

-"in the best interest of the children" this was a movie with sarah jessica parker who had a mental illness and had her kids taken away from her..

-"switched at birth" - this one had the little girl from jurrasic park - must have been in the early 90's when it came out. 2 girls were switched at birth and then one of them passed away as a child and then was discovered about the mixup

these two i watched and they were filled with the teen celebrities from the 80s/90's

- dance till dawn
- camp cucamonga

oh and also watched the movie "nadia" WAY too many times. was determined I was going to be a gymnast after watching that movie - yea not quite ;)

Sometimes I still turn Lifetime movies on on Saturdays and Sundays when I have lots of picture editing or scrapping to do. They are just mindless enough that I can watch them and work at the same time. lol.
 
I have so many tv shows that I watch right now, and I DVR them all and fit them in whenever I can, so I don't have much else time to watch Lifetime movies, but on (rare) days I don't have much to do, yes, I thoroughly enjoy them!! :thumbup: I just get sucked in all day and can't stop watching.

When I was a kid, I watched Labyrinth all the time!!! (You know, the one with David Bowie in tights??? :D) I was convinced I would grow up and marry him. I do still love the movie though, and me and my brother throw out quotes all the time.
 
I can't count the number of times I've watched 15 and pregnant with Kirsten Dunst. I still try to catch it when it comes on!
 
Camp Cucamunga! I love that movie. In fact, I can still sing the camp song! Cucamunga, oh yea, oh yea. Camp cucamonga! That movie was one of the very best. LOL
 
haha... that reminds me of my roommate in college... she would watch all those Lifetime movies - she said it was research so that if she was ever in that situation, she would know how to handle it. ;)

I have a handful of romantic comedies... okay, more like a small dresser full of my fav movies that I will watch over and over again... "Sliding Doors", "Never Been Kissed", "sixteen candles", "the proposal"... just a small number...
 
Oh I LOVE lifetime movies! Sadly, I don't get that channel anymore, and I miss it so much! I know those movies are usually super cheesy, but they are my faves.

And I totally saw Switched At Birth! LOL My fave that I remember was "Baby M" about the surrogate mother who changed her mind. And of course you can't go wrong with the Danielle Steel movies. :)

My dad used to make fun of me and my mom cause we'd be like, "OH! It's based on a true story!!!!" LOL

Oh yeah! The labyrinth! I will say that as a kid, David Bowie in tights was VERY interesting to me. LOL! I watched that movie soooo many times I can sing the whole soundtrack by heart. :)
 
Oh, I remember Switched at Birth and Pregnant at 15! I don't watch them now cause they are just too cheesy, but I have watched some. My mom still loves them. I get a lot of crap at work for my love of Sci Fi. I love aliens and zombies and people with extra powers.

My favorite movie of all time is Some Kind of Wonderful with Eric Stoltz and Mary Stuart Masterson. It still makes me smile!
 
haaaaaaaaaaaa! That's DANGEROUS information there, kcb. Cause I've got Youtube through my tv... that means I could get REALLY comfy and waste a LOT of time (if I was into that kind of thing, of course).
 
I LOVED Sliding Doors!

I can't remember specifics about those kind of movies, but I know I watched them. I used to love them. My favorite thing is to think back about the actors who were just happy to have work back then and that are super famous now - like Hilary Swank. I remember seeing her in one of those after school movies with Mark Paul Gosselaar. Good times!
 
I think melissa gilbert and kellie martin get the award for being in the most of those tv movies. they were both in ALOT of them! haha


I actually may have watched the milk carton one last night.. on youtube.. maybe.. haha
 
I used to watch them all the time. I don't remember specifics though other than a few of the ones based on Danielle Steele novels. Does anyone remember that one where the woman pretended to have a child? She had a couple of kids but pretended to have a third or something like that. Everyone went along with it because of her mental illness. The Invisible Child, maybe?
