Check out the blog today, for a little tutorial on lightening shadows on your layouts: Lighten up, baby!

P.S. If you read carefully you'll find a link to some free shadow styles at the end of the post too.

Such a great tutorial, Jacinda! I honestly never thought of lightening up & tinting my shadows for a page with pale colors. It looks awesome! Especially when you compare the before & after. :)

Me neither....
Thanks!

Really great tutorial, and thanks Krystal for sharing your shadows. I feel a deep sense of sadness that they've been there this whole time and I haven't had them.

Maybe I am just stupid or something, but I can't get it to work.
I have Jenn's styles and she provided a metadata file xml or something which I also uploaded in the styles folder.

But Krystal's come without them.....can I make one of my own or can somebody help me get the correct file? :o

I really appreciated your post, because I know that "dramatic" shadows are very popular with many scrappers, but I struggle with them. (Dark enough to have depth but not so dark that it looks obviously digital.) So it's good to see that you can "lighten up" and still have the depth and end up with a beautiful page.
