Kindle Fire...tell me what I need to know!

So, my Fire is arriving on Saturday! YIPEE!!!

So load me up with all the info I need to know about it. All my kids want to know is if they can play Angry Birds on it :D
 
Yes they can play Angry Birds on it :) It's great - my kids all have their own and it keeps them busy for hours. It's a great gadget!
 
I am sure you will love it. I debated for awhile before getting the Nook tablet but I was really on the fence and wanted a Kindle Fire too. So it was hard for me to decide. From what I read you can do apps, read books & magazines, watch tv shows & movies, browse internet & read email. Pretty much anything you can do with a tablet. I have learned though that some apps I really really want are not available on my Nook :(
 
LOVE my Kindle Fire. The only place I don't use it is when I'm outside...use my regular Kindle for that because of the e-ink. :) You will love it!!
 
I am married to my regular Kindle..so this will be a family thing. I know I'll love having good access to email outside the house since we don't have smart phones and the regular kindle is kind of sucky at that.

So...a lot of regular apps will work on it? awesome! hook me up to your favs!
 
I <3 the amazon app store. They offer a paid app for free every day, and we have gotten some GREAT ones off that. Make sure you check it daily.
 
I love to use my Kindle Fire to watch movies and TV shows while sitting in my Lazy Boy. I prop it up on a few pillows and it's perfect. We have Amazon Prime so there is a lot of free instant streaming available. Have fun!
 
Oh yes, you also get a free month of Amazon Prime when you get a Kindle Fire so that'll be fun to check out some tv shows and movies that they have. They also have Where's My Water (my girls SO love that one). I also found a word game that I love on there called Word to Word...I use Evernote and goodreads quite a bit too. I don't use the apps as much...I mostly just read :)
 
I LOVE Netflix streaming, the Kindle App store and all the fun games...,y kids love Plants vs Zombies and Angry Birds {all the versions LOL...their new favorite is Angry Birds Space:D}
 
Yup, the free app of the day is great. Angry Birds is on there, Fruit Ninja is as well... I also have the Netflix app so I can watch movies on it when I've got wifi access.

Mine is loaded with games for Zach and for my 11 year old brother... Zach has a piano and a bubble pop app that he loves.
 
I think I use my Kindle Fire mostly for visiting the gallery and watching YouTube. If I'm going to be putting some serious time on the computer, I'll go downstairs, but it's great for looking up something fast, showing the hubby a random video. My 8-year-old thinks books are cooler now b/c of the touch screen, so I'm all for things that will get him to read more. Will have to check out the app store, I don't really use apps.

This! And for you an the kids, follow Pixel of Ink and Pixel of Ink Young Edition (I have their emails set up)- but I love my free ebook finds there too.

I love my old kindle AND my Fire, but obviously my kids steal the Fire more often. :)
