Ok, I know we talked about this the last 2 summers and well Keira has had cancer the last 2 summers, so it hasn't worked out for me.

I totally want to do one, I know Laura does too! So lets try to plan one.

Would a weekend or weekday work best for you? Monday, Wednesday, Fridays will work for weekdays once we get to summer. Weekends are fine too, except for July, I'm completely booked with Weddings in July, and one weekend in June. Otherwise I'm opened.

I think where ever we do it, someone should know the area well.

Like we don't want to just pick a random spot that no one has been too. LOL!

Chicago is probably the best spot since its centralized and there are a few ladies that live in that area.

Or maybe Indianapolis, if anyone lives in that area. That's another central spot it looks like.
 
Yeah, just over 4 hours for me. Totally do able. Even for just me & the kiddos if DH has to work.

Chicago is 8+ hrs for me... not sure how far the wisconsin dells are but maybe that would be fun w/ the waterpark? or we could do minneapolis and the mall of america?

Would a weekend or weekday work best for you? Weekend would be best... weekdays, as long know a long time ahead of time and hubby isn't traveling, it would be okay.

How soon would you want to do it? Anytime... right now the second weekend in June, we'll be out of town.

Chicago sounds good for me. (and I'm actually going there Labor Day weekend) So do the Dells or Minneapolis. Or even Kansas City. Indianapolis is too far.

So it looks like Chicago could be the best spot for everyone that has reponded so far.

This is what the drive to Chicago is looking like, based on where you peeps live.

Erin-6 hrs
Mamabee-4 hrs

Mall of America would be cool, but that's too far for me, like 12 hours.

Would a weekend or weekday work best for you? It all depends who is coming and when we would be meeting up!! Weekends will work for later in the summer, weekdays if it is just me and the kiddos at any time.

How soon would you want to do it? I would say later in the summer (late July, or August) Jason will be playing T-ball and games are on Saturdays.

How soon would you want to do it? anytime... July usually isn't great for us but it depends on this house remodel if we go anywhere or not.

I think anytime in August would work fine for me. I'd rather not go the last weekend in August, simply because school will be starting soon, I'll need to get organized
 
I think either works for me... tho, the 18th is my wedding anniversary, so I'll have to check to see if he has any plans :p

And Amy - we definitely need to connect!! I know of 1 other digi scrapper in des Moines but I have yet to meet her (I can't think of her username right off the top if my head - first name is krista)
 
I would rather the 4th.. by the 18th the kids are already in school and it's hard.

Unless y'all decide to come to Kansas City and do the Lego thing and Kaleidescope.. then I don't care what day you pick. :D :D :D
 
Oh, I wish I could!!! I'm just not sure what life is going to look like once this baby is born, so I can't commit to anything. We've talked about going to Chicago this summer if the baby is healtby, so if the dates match up, I'd love to join up with you all.

Or, if the Minneapolis area comes up again in discussions, I'd for sure join you since that's where we live.
 
I live in Indy, so doing it here would be great, but Chicago is fine, too, as it's a couple hours from here. I went to Chicago a lot as a kid, but haven't been in awhile, so I know what's there, but not how to get around efficiently. :D

No kids and no hubby. Mama needs some me time! :D

A weekend would work best for me with DH's class and work schedule.

Of the two dates, I much prefer August 4th. DD's bday is August 17th, so I'm sure we will have something going on for her the weekend of the 18th. It's also too close to everyone starting school and us having to move.

Does anyone have any interest in making a weekend of it by staying in a hotel Saturday night? [Or, I guess someone's house if enough Chicago peeps are coming!]

I do think Chicago would be the best location, central for the most people.
 
Either date in August works for me! Sports should be over and that is before school starts and the next wave of sports start! LOL
 
I live in NW Arkansas, but my husband's mom is in Racine, WI, so we could make a trip out of it! :)
The 4th would work better for us. I need to check all of our dates, though before committing. :)

How far would you be willing to drive? The baby gets super frustrated about long trips... I'd say we'd have to sit this one out if it were more than about 1-2 hours. But, once you pick a location and date, who knows? I may be able to work something out.

Would a weekend or weekday work best for you? During the summer I can do anytime. My summer ends at the beginning of August this year. I could probably do the 4th. I could definitely NOT do the 18th. Chicago is great- only 2-3 hours for me!

The 18th won't work here either. School started back on the 17th last year and I haven't looked at next year's school calendar but it's going to be a bad weekend no matter what, I'm sure. I can do the 4th in Chicago :)
 
It's looking like 1/2 can do the 4th and the other 1/2 can do the 18th! Lol I wonder if July would be better?
 
KRISTIN! I didn't know you lived in South Bend(ish)... did I? That's where I grew up and where my family still lives. DD and I are up there every couple months to visit. We'll have to hang out sometime. :)
 
July is terrible for me. I could only do the first weekend in July.

I have weddings 3 of the 4 Saturdays in July this year.
