single page vs. double pages

I'm working on some pages that have photos that aren't related, but it's all my boys and playing so they go well together. But, the layouts aren't double page spreads, just two single pages. Do you worry about the pages being similar/coordinating, or just work based on photos, etc.? I've always been a DPS scrapper so this is branching out for me.
 
No, I never worry abt whether my pages match or not. If I were a paper scrapper, I imagine I might take that into consideration more often since the two pages would actually be in front of me to see, but with digital, I don't like working on spreads and having the pages side by side and trying to get them to 'flow.' I have yet to be part of an event or activity where I took so many photos that I thought I needed a two page spread for it, so I can probably count on two hands how many double page layouts I've done in the last 9 years of digi.
 
If it isn't a 2-pager, I don't worry about what the facing page will look like. When my pages are printed and ready to be put in an album, I look at the pages from the month and match the one-pagers up as best I can, so that pages with similar colors or themes are together. And sometimes they don't match at all because that's just how it works out. It still looks good. I'll admit that if the vast majority of my pages were doubles I might be more concerned that the singles match so they didn't stand out, but I'm sure no one else looking through my albums would notice or care.
 
I'm a little OCD and different. lol. I print photo books every year and make each sure the spreads match. Of course, I'm also a photographer who takes a ton of pictures. For birthdays, holidays, etc I often make two page spreads. If I just have a few pictures, I scrap them on one pages and find something similar to put on the other page, making sure the background paper matches. It sounds super complicated, but it really isn't and I have no problem keeping up with my albums and already have one from 2011 all printed out.
 
Nope - I never worry - they are two more stories in our lives, and being facing pages that don't match don't bother me at all.
 
I don't scrap chronologically, so I CAN'T worry about this. Plus doing layouts on assignment also blows any kind of matching too. I do have a friend who only does DPS because she likes the matching - she started out that way and continues that way.
 
I am also OCD and like my pages to match. I just think the album flows better when they match, but that's obviously a personal preference. I take a ton of photos and never have a problem filling up 2 pages for a layout.
 
I started out doing double pages and/or coordinating single pages, but now I just do single pages without worrying about the other side "matching," and it certainly is much easier this way!

This is totally me! :D Plus, for me - the kit choice I use helps tell the story, conveys the emotions, along with the journaling and the photos... so unless I set up to do double pages... I don't worry about it. :)
 
aside from doing my daughter's wedding album I do not worry about pages matching or flowing well together. With her wedding album I do single pages but it is in a certain color scheme so it will all go together well and look good in one album. Otherwise I only do single page layouts and it does not matter if it is matching the page next to it or not
 
I do scrap chronologically and I usually just use the same kit for the pages that face each other. Even if they are unrelated.
 
I scrap out of order, and not usre if that has anything to do with it, but I don't match up facing pages. I print individual layouts, never done a book - except for p365 one year, and I DID match up those facing pages. I do some 2 page spreads if I have a lot of photos, and those will end up facing each other, but otherwise, I look at each page as it's own story, so I don't feel like they have to match.
 
I've done some themed books where I use the same kit throughout the entire book (usually 20 pages plus a cover and back page that match) but that's about the only time I worry about whether things match or not. I scrap wildly out of order. Today I might scrap my daughter's birth while tomorrow I scrap her 9th birthday. LOL I never pay attention to whether facing pages match in someone else's album so I don't worry about it in mine either. I do like my themed books though. :)
 
i don't worry about it at all.. and I'm pretty OCD so i'm actually a little surprised that it doesn't bother me.. but it doesn't. :)
 
I can say it's OK for me for them not to match, but I am quite anal when it comes to seeing pages in print to go in my albums, so they need to be matching :))

Same here. When I paper scrapped, I always like having the pages match. After 5 years or so of doing things that way, I was trying to step away from it. Making the change to digital helped me get out of that habit, and it makes life so much easier! Plus, I never go through my albums and think... "I wish those two pages went together."
