THANK YOU!!!

After the post about it, on a whim I went to Amazon and purchased it (because I've been wanting a external flash but haven't wanted to part with my cash) to try out on my camera!! The day it came I snapped it on and headed into the baby's very dark bedroom while he was napping to snap some photos!! One with just the regular on board flash and one with the lightscoop on!! If I never get another "good shot" with it this photo alone was worth the $30 bucks!! :D :D But I have a feeling I'm going to be just as pleased with any additional photos I take with the light scoop!!!

These are totally un-touch...SOOC!!!

I'm just STUNNED with how natural the 2nd photo looks, just gorgeous!!! Can't wait to play some more with the lightscoop on!!!

i have an external flash and i think i should pick one of these up. it's hard to travel with the flash. grat example!

I've been very happy with mine, too. I bought one after someone recommended it here as a cheaper alternative to replacing my external flash.

I couldn't be happier with mine!! I have some photos that are just heart-stopping - and I never would have gotten them if it weren't for my lightscoop :) And for $30, it really is a great deal! :)

Yay! So glad you like it! I love mine too, and the best part is that I was able to get it for free using Amazon GC's from Swagbucks. Woot! :p

Haha now I think I need one too, I do love my external flash but my camera is heavy enough just by itself and then you add the flash and it's super heavy! I think this would be nice just to have to use around the house, it's so dark in our house especially this time of year!

omg...I can so relate to this post...I bought this like a week ago for my external flash to diffuse light {which I know is different than bouncing it}and am AMAZED at how much better my pictures are...for a measly $20 I have more natural looking photos and no red eye :)

That is amazing!!! I have never heard of a light scoop though, what exactly is it? It sounds like sth amazing, especially for 30$.

I've looked at them but I'm unsure. I thought it was more for bouncing than diffusing. I'm worried because I only have windows on one side of my small house and a high ceiling. Do you think it will still work?

I'm very excited about this, I didn't even know there existed such thing for popup flashes! Ofcourse this particular brand is not available in my country, I could have guessed, but I surfed around and found another one. It's already ordered! :D
Thanks for the enabling! :)
ETA: the brand I ordered is Gary Fong

I bought it too and here are my SOOC shots! We have really high (12 ft at least) vaulted ceilings and it still worked great!

Wow Traci! Loving the pictures showing the difference. I think SSD girls have really bumped up the profit margin on this product! LOL Seems like everyone is getting it.

Wow, that's great! I hate how my indoor winter photos always turn out. I think I need to get one, too.

How high are your ceilings? If it's too high (like a two-story open living room type high) then there's a chance it won't... Maybe look and see if there is a return policy or something.

OR - I did this to see how it would look. Find a mirror or something reflective and angle it up so that the light will bounce off it and onto your ceiling. If it's really dark - mess with your settings and see if you can get anything worth keeping. If not, then that might be your answer :)

eeeek, i just ordered it. It will be here tuesday. I live near B&H so I get fast shipping for less than a dollar!

Sweet! I ordered mine from B&H too but I had to pay a little more for tuesday delivery. :p I don't care though because I want it before thanksgiving so I can use it at my MIL's house! WOOT!

ok, so i was really impatient and wanna try this out. it would take a month to get here when i order stuff online, and i am cheap, too :p sooo, i made something like this:

what a difference! can't wait for my kids to wake up from their nap to take their photos! :)

i made it really quick... assembling it took less than 10 minutes. we have a glass and aluminum store so the mirror-- and everything else-- is free! kinda embarrassing to take this out but would work at home or you just wanna try it before buying the real thing hehe :)

edit: the sample pics has not been altered, only resized.
