Yay/Boo! (My Kindle Order)

Just got notice that my new Kindle Touch that I preordered back in early October shipped... YAY!!!

Unfortunately, when I ordered it, I did it under the assumption that it would ship next week and arrive sometime around Dec 1 (that was their initial estimate).

BUT now it looks like it'll be delivered on Black Friday (the 25th) which is awesome EXCEPT that I'll be out of town for Thanksgiving. Boo! We don't ever go anywhere, and I rarely order anything. So, the timing here sorta stinks.

Guess I'll be having my neighbor watch for it so that it's not left on my porch!

Mine shipped today also. I just looked at the tracking on it and mine is coming from Arizona and it's estimated to get here on the 28th. That is 11 days for it to get from Arizona to Oregon. So, yeah, I think it will be getting here a lot sooner than they initially predict, unless it's going the scenic route. LOL However, I don't need it early because I don't get to unwrap it until Christmas. :(

LOL, you never know. The prints I ordered from Persnickety Prints took the scenic route to get here and went from Utah to New Hampshire and back to TX. And I had that happen with a pair of jeans I ordered too - went from CA to Maryland and then back to Colorado. I just figure it's their way of enticing you to pay for faster shipping. :D

Hopefully all your Kindles will arrive ASAP!

When I ordered mine it was delivered much sooner than Amazon's estimate. Plus the box it comes in is just slightly larger than the Kindle itself, so mine actually fit inside our mailbox! I was surprised at how small the box was, and mine had Kindle marked clearly on the outside of the box so definitely have your neighbor grab it out of your mailbox if it doesn't show up before you head out of town!

Yes! It's because so many companies use other companies such as Streamlite to manage their shipping, so it has extra stops to make on the way. It's frustrating!

Libby, I hope your Kindle arrives before your trip! :)

Mine shipped today, too! I can't wait.

I had the same problem as you-at first mine was supposed to arrive 11/29-12/5, which was fine. But then they sent me the email that it was releasing early and would arrive Thanksgiving week while we were away. I don't have a neighbor I could ask to get it, so I called Amazon to find out what I'd need to upgrade my shipping to so it would be here before we left. I was willing to pay, but when I explained, they gave me free overnight shipping so it would arrive in time. I've heard their customer service is always great about things like that, so it's probably worth keeping in mind for next time. For this time, I hope it arrives sooner than they estimated! My Amazon packages usually do.

Oooh! I wish I had thought to call them, Rachel! What a smart cookie you are!!

Well, I'll keep an eye on it and hopefully it'll show up before we leave (Wed morning). If not, it'll be a nice little treat for once I get home! :)

Did you get a tracking number? Is it UPS or USPS? If it's USPS, have your mail held while you're gone. You can request it online now.
