The Ghost of Awesome Past
Thought I'd pass this along because it might help someone else! I've been having problems with photoshop running majorly slow and freezing. Plus I've had "scratch discs are full" issues. I've been playing with all sorts of fixes... and everything gave a tiny bit of help, but I thought it all came down to my internal hard drive is full and the scratch disc is compromised because of that. But I couldn't figure out what was filling my hard drive. I don't use much besides PSCS2, the internet, and Word. Nothing should be filling my hard drive because all my scrapbook and pictures is on my external. What could be the problem?! So, I finally found some advice on deleting my temp files. I ended up freeing 39.9 GIGS of space!! WOW! And since I'm on a laptop with a tiny 120GB internal, that is very very significant. So, I thought I'd pass along this article by Adobe on Optimize Performance of Photoshop so others could benefit from this all.
If you scroll down to the "temporary files" section, that is where I saw the info on how to find these files. It was SO helpful!
