Are any of your folder preview images getting pixelated? I always replace my blue folder icon with the preview for the kit, but ever since we updated to Snow Leopard OS and then Lion OS some of my icons are all pixelated and blurry. I've searched online and I can't seem to find a solution. Seems like this is an issue others are having, but no one knows the answer or at least has one I can understand lol. Anyone else have this problem? or know of a way to fix it?

Yep, I've run into it and as far as I can tell its a bug with Finder. I find it happens when I've changed a bunch of previews at once so I think it just gets confused.

Relaunching Finder usually fixes it (hold Ctrl+Opt and click on the Finder icon on the dock) or else a full restart will too.

I have been getting pixelation issues too. Not just with folder previews but with thumbnails too. I haven't had any luck in finding the solution. I don't think it was the Lion OS, but maybe one of the updates because I was fine until lately. If you find anything out, could you let me know? It drives me bonkers and I'd like to solve it!

It's not just with Lion - I've had it happen with all three OS - Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion.

I've noticed it a few times, but not much. And relaunching the finder does fix it.

Thanks ladies! I'll try restarting finder and see if that works. Good to know I'm not the only one lol...misery loves company

Ok so I did what Lynette suggested and it worked for the most part. It corrected a few of the images for me, but I had to manualy go back and change some too. At least this time they stayed looking nice instead of automatically pixelating.

Hey Julie, if you're having issues with the thumbnails (like pixelated Photoshop file thumbnails), if you open up the Get Info box for the file (Cmd+I) and then click and delete the preview image at the top, Finder will recreate the thumbnail and it won't be blurry anymore.
