NSBR-Any Top Chef fans?

I just can't get into that show for some reason. Now excuse me while I go watch my recorded episodes of the real housewives of NYC :p

haha Chef Ramsey..outside the show he seems soo sweet though! I loooove how he was to Julia last year..paying for culinary school for her. She was a good cook I'd LOVE to see her back one day!
 
Meg, I'm glad you posted this!

Okay so I watched last night and I have to say that I am a little disappointed with the "cast" because it seems like they wanted a few look-alikes from last season. Does anyone else feel that way? It's like they're not only looking for great food but for typecast people that look the way last season's contestants did. Was it just me?

Other than that I was impressed by the overall presentations of the contestants! Minus that guy that can't stop cursing and the one (same guy?) that didn't realize you needed mayo for crab cakes or that mayo is just oil and eggs. Even I knew that!
 
hahaha, Mikkel - I made that same comment to DH when he was watching with me - and one guy even sounds just like Sam from last season ROFL. Maybe all chefs just start to look alike?! :unsure:

I was actually surprised that they didn't book Ryan (the picata guy) because they seemed to go on and on and on that he didn't know what picata was, when Mima just didn't get hers right.

The cursing guy and the mayo guy are one and the same (and I was wondering if that was just a sarcastic comment about not knowing how mayo was made).
 
I was thinking that not knowing what piccata is (even I know piccata...I was just incredulous as he listed bread crumbs and tomatoes as part of the dish while he was shopping) vs poor seasoning was the worse offense. Of course, if they combined that with her poor seasoning in the opposite direction from the night prior...I can see why they chose Nimma over Ryan for elimination.

Andrew's the cussing fool who failed to buy mayo. Mayo is a pretty big staple item though, so I might have had the same train of thought about it already being in the TC kitchens. I can't stand this guy though. The cussing has to go. That means he'll be around for weeks and weeks to come of course, lol!!
 
but Mima messed up her pizza too. Remember Rocco said the pizza wasn't salty enough ... then she OVER salted the shrimp and totally messed up the cauliflower flan thing (and ok - that just sounds GROSS)

At least Ryan's dish was edible.

LMAO... Glad I wasn't the only one that thought that cauliflower thing sounded (and looked) repulsive!

And I agree, the cussing guy has to go!
 
The cursing man reminds me of the first guy that was lost the quick-fire last season after his full-out-appetizer-apple-thing he made instead of a small amuse bouche!

Some of the winning dishes last night sounded YUMMY! Maybe I just know what a lot of the dishes are b/c I freakin' love food!
