thought I might share this (not so little) gem I saw on fb today:

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:-Knowing when to come in out of the rain; - Why the early bird gets the worm;- Life isn't always fair; - And maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies, don't spend more than you can earn and adults, not children, are in charge. His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realise that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights,I Want It Now,Someone Else Is To Blame,I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realised he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, do nothing.

Sad but true

I'm so excited - I just got a job as an election day official for the end of november and by the time the benefit people and the tax department have their say I will be $169 better off for one week - woo hoo christmas shopping

We just got back from Disneyland late last night! Fun stuff! It had been 4 yrs since we took our kids, so it was time to go back. I feel like I'm being hit with a landslide of things to catch up. We were only gone for 3 days, holy cow, it may take me that long to catch up, eek.

Good luck on the job interview, Maria. :)

Kate, come help me catch up when you're done being all Miss Productive, okay? lol :D

Oh please, Andrea! I'm playing as much as I'm working, but as I don't have a whole lot of people coming to my desk asking for this or that, I'm actually getting more work done that usual.

Have a big day today - going to pick my daughter up then taking the three daughters (and hubby lol) to Tin Can Bay to have lunch with my son & his fiancee . . and a little belated bday party for my 4yr old while we're there :)

I force my family into group shots, too. This afternoon I took my year and a half old nephew out to the farm for his first ever "ride of the big tractor." His shirt happened to match the John Deere tractor. All by accident, of course. Poor kid only knows him Auntie by the giant camera in front of her face. Lol.

LOL @ Marla, and yep I got some pics Kate but dont know how good they are yet . . good thing I take heaps cos sometimes I've got to chop off smiley heads to put over cranky heads hahahahaha :p

I love playing with photos like that - I've been doing that as long as I've been digiscrapping . . the last particularly satisfying photo I did was taking my sister's ex out of the family photo . . he was such a jerk and I didnt want him on a page I was doing lol

I totally get face swapping, lol! Of our family of five, I've had three heads swapped to get a good family picture... That's what happens when you have three wiggly, little boys, lol! :) BTW, it has gotten better as they are getting older...

Did I miss much? I've been out of town and missed you guys! :)
