Got ACDSee 10!

Katrina, I know you'll be happy I finally upgraded ROFL!

80 GB of stuff to tag, sounds so daunting, but I'm going to try to tag as I buy, and do so much every day. I'm hoping to get it done before they release version 11 LOL!!!!

I'm stoked at the idea of being able to see my brushes and to be able to unzip right in there!

ACDSee10 is awesome. Love the brush features and the unzipping is great too. Congrats on upgrading!

we should have a support group for this! LOL... I SO need to get restarted in organizing. I have ACDSEE10, but I haven't done anything with it yet.

Ohhh man Jamie!
What a task...I'm a bit scared of this program...I'm not sure why but it seems daunting!

So is the upgrade to 10 worth it? I have version 9 but I've been debating about upgrading before I start organizing again.

It does seem crazy to even be trying. I have only done Alice Koh and some of Amanda Heimann's so far, but I love how I click ribbons, and I get....ribbons! Nothing else! ROFL!

That is why I upgraded, because I hadn't done anything yet in terms of tagging, and I figured I may as well. I also liked the idea of being able to see my brushes, I hate having to load them to see them.

I'm not allowed to even open ACDSee today until after I do my run for the couch to 5k. Otherwise I'll get sucked in and never go run! Lol!

Yea first I have to run, then I have to finish our ADSR challenge 2 LO. THEN I can open it. And I should really work on other scrap stuff too, but I know I won't be able to wait that long, LOL.

Speaking of which, I'm off to go run now!

i just dl'ed the free trial of this and thought, wow this is amazing but a ton of work!! i will see how it goes before i make the plunge and purchase.

oh, and happy running to you! i saw the info about this up in another post and have been thinking about it!!

I have 9 too, and what Connie said is that 10 is more stable (which would be nice since 9 was very unstable on my computer) but what really sold me was the popup windows that show you what the item is before you click on it. Now, granted I haven't even installed 10, so I don't know if that is reason to upgrade... but I liked the concept. Anyone that has 10, can you speak about the popup window thing?? Is it cool? I should just install the silly program, but I'm in the middle of designing and can't restart my computer right now.

The pop-up window is nice, you can sort of scan through with your mouse without clicking. The pop-up is about the same size as the preview window that's on the left (if you just click once, not the full preview)

I really like that you can see brushes though, which I believe you can't do in 9.

the pop up is a nice feature but the pop up window isn't that big. it would be even better if the pop up were bigger.

IMO, it's the brush viewer that makes 10 worth it. not only can you see all the brushes in the abr file you can load it right into photoshop.

the unzipping feature is also great.

Version 9 was extremely unstable on my computer too, it would crash and lock up frequently. I have 2 GB of RAM and a 250 GB hard drive, so there was plenty of space and power to run it. I am finding that 10 is working awesomely (is that a word? LOL) and very smoothly. I am now thinking that a lot of the problems I have had with my computer acting very sluggish when I was scrapping were due to having Version 9, not due to Photoshop. I have about 10 kits tagged so far....I might be here forever LOL

wouldn't it be funny if ACDSee asked "Did you run today?" before it would open . . .

hmm, maybe it would be better if my fridge asked . . ..

LOL Mimi! I would just lie, it would never know the difference :p

I've been totally sluggish all afternoon. I'm so not used to serious workouts, lol.

I did the opposite of Col....tomorrow I'm going to try to SKATE to see if I can still jump or do anything. That should be fun, if I don't end up in the hospital LOL

I bought 10 about 3 weeks ago, I think, and it took me like 5 insane days to get everything tagged, but now I feel SOO ubber orginized! My OCD is loving it! LOL

LOL Ya it did! I have a TON of stuff though and I did general catagories, then went in and did specific sub-catigories.....I am WAY OCD that way! LOL

I only got 1 1/2 designers done yesterday, I have SO much stuff. Did you find you purged much?

I divided mine up a lot also, I have some general categories, then a lot of sub categories. I am looking forward to when it is all organized, but of course, that will be lonnnnnnnnng time LOL!

I'm not even stressing about getting it all done. I've got too much stuff to stress! And too much stuff to do to take off for a week just to tag, lol.

I don't think I'll ever get done tagging but that doesn't really bother me. I think ACDSee is worth it b/c it just makes browsing my stash easier.

and I just realized that I need to do day 2 of my C25k Week 1, yikes.
