Keira's chemo went well today, nothing too major, she's just pretty worn out, but it was a long day, we got to the hospital @ 8 ish and didn't finally head home until around 4:30. We had a break in the middle of the day.

Found out a few things, she starts radiation on Tuesday, 16 sessions, she'll go everyday during the week until June 28th. Sessions will on last about 20 minutes, so I get to drive 45 minutes one way for a 20 minute treatment @ $4.19 a gallon. Which totally blows. Maybe gas will get cheaper? :p

I also found out that every 3rd week of chemo, will be a 5 day a week treatment, this was "0" week, and then on week 3, we'll go 5 days, I think all day. Ugh.

She also has purple hair now and it was a big hit at the hospital.

That purple hair is just darling on her. Hoping things go more smoothly than you expect. Can she listen to books on tape or watch dvds while having treatment? That might make the time pass a little more quickly and give you some time to read or something. Wishing you all the best!

Purple is my favorite colour! I should totally dye mine to match hers... I'm not even kidding, that's one stylish kid. I'm jealous.

Is there anything I can do to help? Aside from prayers? I know I'm pretty far away, but if you can think of something... please don't hesitate to let me know.

She is just gorgeous, I love that she's smiling through everything. I will continue to keep your family in my thoughts! I'm sorry your little sweetie has to go through this {{hugs}}
 
thanks everyone! We appreciate all the thoughts & prayers!

And FYI, I started my blog back up and on fridays or saturdays I'll try to update Keira's progress in case I don't do it here. :)
 
What an absolute doll Keira is - and I LOVE her purple hair!! Will be praying for all of you that things continue to look good . . . meanwhile, please tell Keira that she is a hero for many of us!! :hugs:
