Does anyone have this lens - Canon Wide Angle EF 35mm f/2.0 Autofocus Lens

Thinking about getting for myself. I currently have my kit lens, and the 50mm. I love my 50, but find it hard to use indoors, because my house is small.

I got that one for Christmas and it has been on my camera ever since. I used it a lot at Disney (more lightweight than my Tamron 28-75) and I got some amazing photos.

Oh I'm trying to decide between that one and the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 !!! There's only about $100 bucks differnece between them!!

Ooooo, I'm adding that to the wishlist :)
I wanted to get the Canon 50mm f/1.4, but might start with this one if it's everyone's go to
Thanks Jenn!

Personally I would stick with the Canon, sometimes the lower aperatures are really hard to get good focus with (both eyes of a person etc) and you'd be ending up shooting at 2.0 or above anyway. Just something I'm learning over at ClickinMoms.

Can you rent one to see how it works for you?

Hmm...probably online but since I shoot mostly my kids and 2 of them are toddlers I'll probably just go with the 35mm then, it's hard to get them to look at me let alone sit still. :glare: Stinkers!!! :D :D

I didn't have a preference of one over the other...I love my 50mm, but I just need "more room" so that is why I was debating over those 2!! Thanks for the advise, it's much appreciated!!!

35 mm is what you want for inside in tight spaces. On a crop sensor camera (which is what most have unless upgraded to a new Full Frame model). It basically works out to near 50mm because of the auto zoom our cameras do.

I'm not a prime gal, (I love my 17-55mm 2.8f) but I do know that my 50mm is too tight for anything but headshots for me inside.

So Amazon & B&H have the same price for this lens. Any recommendations or info on why I would buy it at one place over the other? Has anyone returned lenses to either? I'm trying to decide between the 35mm & 28mm, so I'm going to order the 35 first and if I don't like it, return it for the 28 so I want a place with a good return policy.

I would go with B&H, they are really good about returns (there is a time limit though I believe) and they are specialists in photo stuff. I've bought through them before and read that several people have had no problems returning stuff to them either.

I've had the Sigma 30mm 1.4 since June and am actually thinking about selling it and getting the 50mm 1.4 instead. It's a great lens but I like using my 85mm 1.8 more so I'm thinking I'll like the 50mm lens better.
