Ok, try following these directions for the iPhone: http://www.simplythenest.com/journal/2010/12/17/how-to-pin-images-to-pinterest-from-the-iphone.html

You'll basically create a bookmark in your browser (any page) and then edit it so the URL is the javascript instead (it explains in the post). Then you should be able to drag that bookmark you created onto your toolbar and Pin using it. It's how I set up my iPhone and I tried it on my computer too and it worked.

There servers have been up and down and overloaded today. I think they let a bunch of pending invitees in (including me) and now there is a pinning free for all.

That might be the source of the login in issues. I know I have had trouble pinning things off and on all day, getting server overload messages

LOL. I haven't really checked the forums here much today, but I did get a whole bunch of follow requests from Pinterest today. Now I know why. I haven't pinned much yet, but I do think it's such a fun, inspiring site.
