Show me your sit-on-the-desk CALENDARS

I'm looking for another type of calendar to make dh for Christmas for his desk at the office. I want one that can sit on the desk but NOT take too much space because his office is small and filled with a lot of drawings and such for work.

I can't find pics of one I have made in the past ...

Hybrid templates links would be good...I don't need actual CALENDAR templates ... I just want a new way to make a calendar for his desk...

I've made CD case calendars, made a tri-fold type that stood up and flipped through ... ideas? It can't be a long accordion type because it will take up too much space.

I do have a bind-it-all and I have a Silhouette SD (although it can't cut chipboard) ...

suggestions?? Please!!
 
i was thinking of the wood one. my friend vanessa makes them and you can see examples in her store here - as well she sells the blanks.

These were made as the teacher Christmas gifts last year using a 4x6 acrylic desktop stand (I found a bunch on clearance), they all loved them and didn't take up much room on their desks. The little calendars are those preprinted/bound ones you can find in any cheap stationery store.

and this I made from scratch and taught as a make and take at a retreat a couple of years ago, from memory it was about 2.5"x3.5", maybe a little bigger, I don't think I kept it to measure properly. It was a cute little thing and really well received by everyone who made it.

It was bound with a Bind it All. I do have the instructions I think somewhere, a template would be good for the individual pages, it took me ages to get all the months typed and lined up to print properly and at the right size onto cardstock.

Im sooooo doing those block calendars for some grandparent gifts this year! And maybe some teacher gifts too! LOVE THEM!
 
Thanks ladies!! I might use one of the ones that Celeste suggested ... I forgot to mention that I LIKE to list the holidays and such on the calendar for dh ... he won't REMEMBER what they are if they aren't on the calendar. lol

I found pics of my calendar I made in 2009 ... I'll upload them when I get back home.
 
My 2009 desk calendar ... with dates!

Hopefully this link works ... it's a slideshow of my 2009 desk calendar ... was wanting something like this with dates on it ... doesn't take much room ... but you can add dates like "buy your wife chocolate" day on them. lol ...click on the picture and hopefully it will take you to all the pictures...



I'd like to find something new to do that could be like this ...
 
I really like yours Sharon! Did you do it from a template or just on your own? I would love to do something like that for me and the grandparents!!!!

Here is what I purchased ... which you won't have to buy another template ... you can easily change it every year!! I used the brag sized calendar ... plenty of room at the top to bind it ... used the instructions in the bind-it-all book to make a triangle base to keep it up on the desk.

I hope I don't get in trouble for posting the link...but there isn't one like that in the store here that I found. I like it because I can do ALL KINDS of calendars with the set.

She does use a script program and I downloaded it ... but jeesh it is a lot more work to get it to where she has it ... resizing and all of that ... but here is the script program she used:

...ok maybe I will remake this one again ... after all ... I do have LOTS of new kits since December 2008 when I originally made it. LOL

I went to (can't find link) a site that tells all kinds of fun days (aka Eat your chocolate day, kite flying day, etc.) and added those in on the calendar whenever I could. ...plus of course holidays, birthdays, and anniversary ... if you look on January.... my birthday had bling around the day. ;)

my dh is a woodworker ... he could make these in a heartbeat...could even make them fancier if desired ... he makes custom shaped things for ladies that paint ALL the time!

If anyone is interested in something like that...drop me a PM and we can see what he can come up with ... he uses a scroll saw, lathe, band saw, table saw ... and who knows what else. lol
