My crafts room. Or storage. Whatever, this is what I spent half a day doing.

I took half a day off to do something I wanted to do for some time - to rearrange the guest room so that it could serve as a crafts room as well. I'm fully aware of the fact that I'm the kind of person that ALWAYS works in the living room, but I wanted to arrange stuff so that I could work in the guest room as well and if not, so that I had stuff at hand at least.

Before the "reform" the shelves were full of empty CDs and DVDs, candleholders, cute thingies and stuff like that, and the table was full of clutter. I think it's better now.

Loads of crafts stuff is stored in the table and I have a wardrobe in the same room whose substantial part is reserved for that as well. That's why I never wanted to switch to hybrid - I didn't want more stuff! But thanks to getting more stuff I finally did this rearrangement and I like it. ;-)

The pics are horrible quality, but it's already late evening here and I was tired when taking them.

YAY!! it looks awesome! isn't that such a great feeling, to be ORGANIZED?!

*sigh*...my craft room is a complete disaster. My kids have been getting into it (with their friends from the neigborhood). I avoid the room at all costs. So glad I am all digi all the time now, LOL!

I have the same desk! I love mine, it holds sooooooo much!!
It looks great hon! I took some time to clear off my desk last night too and I always feel better when there's a clean space for me to see, and get inspired to get dirty again :P

where is that desk from? i LOVE it! i wish i had room for a craft area in this house. that looks really nice!

Thanks to everyone! I'm really happy with the result so far. I didn't feel like doing it, but I felt I had to. And it felt *so* rewarding afterwards.

Nevertheless, I'm a hopeless clutterer and no table is ever big enough for me, so I usually end up working on the floor (you should have seen the mess in that room in the weeks before Christmas), or in the living room where the table is much bigger. Still, it's great to have chosen a place for everything so that I know where to put it after I finished. This is what I missed before. I may be a clutterer, but I like to have my shelves and wardrobes organised. So it's a mess on the outside, rarely on the inside. ;-)

Looks great! All you need now is a desk/lamp light.

Definitely! So far the light is not much, and I gritted my teeth during Christmas preparations (normally I work in the living room, but I wisely did everything pre-Christmas in the guestroom, because I didn't want a mess in the living room for weeks).

Oh, it's the greatest, isn't it? And the storage space is bigger than it looks at the first sight.

I totally love most of IKEA furniture done in this style. In that room I also have white PAX BIRKELAND wardrobe and the most amazing white HEMNES couch - the one with drawers, I just love that one and furnished to room around it - even painted the walls yellow for the contrast (they were white when I moved in). :-)

Hehe, so true! And thanks for the appreciation. :-)

It's from IKEA. It is called LIATORP.

It looks brilliant! I love those shelves you have. I love white furniture :)

I've been in love with white furniture for about 3 years now, and I'd say it's more than just a phase.

BTW, for some reason it tends to remind me of Britain. I see that whole IKEA line of furniture as Britain-inspired. :-)

Andrea, is it really that common in UK or do I suffer from delusions?

I need some of those shelves! I keep my supplies on a bookcase and in a closet of my DH's office. I actual do my crafting at the dining room table or at our bar. I have to confess that I have a craft dresser too...in our family room. I've been looking for something a little more sophisticated, but the though of having to move everything and re-organize makes me sick. However, now seeing your little space makes me want to get to work!

I think it comes more from Sweden but we've had IKEA stores here for about 20 years now and I would reckon that 50% of homes have IKEA furniture in them (just summizing that from all the girls I work with) so it must be having an affect. All of our bedroom furniture, the fixtures in the bathrooms, most of my craft room and our kitchen our white too. It makes me happy

Reorganisation sucks big time, and TAKES a lot of time. That's why I took a day off from work, I hoped that psychologically I would force myself do something, otherwise I'd have lost a day off for nothing. It worked!

Those shelves, BTW, are IKEA too and they are called HENSVIK. I think they meant it as kiddie furniture, but I thought they would go great with the desk.

I was thinking more about white furniture than IKEA furniture. But yay for white kitchen! I dream about one too. :-) I was playing with the idea of a white bedroom as well, but in the end I think I'd like something red-brownish. Not that I'm going to get a new kitchen of a new bedroom soon. But I like to make plans like that, it's fun. :-)
