18 days and counting

I haven't posted about this much on here - just on my CT boards I think - but we've got big changes ahead in our family. My DH's company was sold in November and he finished up a 6 month service contract at the end of April. He job searched all that time (you know in his spare time in between me being on bedrest and us having the twins....) and finally landed something mid-April (so yeah like 2 weeks before his contract ended - whew). He took 2 weeks off and right now he's working in Ohio during the week and home in Illinois with me and the kiddies on the weekend (while we get our crazy house ready to sell).

So life is nuts right now as I'm trying to pack all our stuff while taking care of 4 boys and 2 babies and we're remodeling the kitchen and painting and all that jazz. But the end is in sight....we move in 18 days. I cannot wait to just get there and move on. Yes we are moving away from our family and friends and our church but this transition stuff just bites - I 'm just ready to move forward, even if it will be hard. 18 more days and my life will be normal again. :)

ETA: well if living in a house full of boxes and not knowing a soul in town is normal, anyway. ;) at least I will still have all of you....:p

Hmmm....where ya moving to in Ohio (you can PM me if you don't feel like posting publicly)? I grew up in Ohio and lived my whole life there till about 5 years ago when we uprooted and moved to PA. I'm still only about 2 hours away from my hometown and visit often, how totally cool if you were moving near where I visit!!! :D

I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers Emmy that the move goes smooth and you all can settle quickly!!! Good luck!!!!! :hugs:

Good luck with your big move! If you're still moving where you thought you were before- we'll be super close. :) Let me know if you need anything- even just a tip on where the cool parks are for the kids, lol.

I don't mind posting it here - I figure if it's on FB why not here. We are moving to Granville Ohio, which is just outside Columbus (to the East). And yes Sheana gets to be my new friend cause she let it slip she lives closeby LOL and now there is NO escaping me! :p

Milmomma - I don't know how you do it over and over! My dh and I relocated out of state twice in our early years but we've not moved since we started having babies 10 years ago! My parents live about 8 minutes away and have been a big part of our lives - it's just going to be a huge change. I am seriously wondering how I will get to the grocery store lol. (I suppose at night when dh is home to watch the kiddos!)

I'm not sad about it - honestly, I'm just incredibly grateful he found a job, regardless of location. I feel very blessed. We're trying to think of it as an adventure rather than focusing on leaving family and friends behind.

ditto to Britt!!! I can't wait to FINALLY settle down in about 6 weeks in my VERY OWN house...19 1/2 years of moving is ENOUGH! GL with your move...you will make it rhough just fine :)

Good luck with the move!! I can only imagine how hard it is to have to take care of six kids let alone pack all your stuff while caring for six kids!!

Wow! I had no idea you were going through all of that! Hope the move goes smoothly for you! I can see why you're ready for it all to be finished - living in limbo is no fun!

GL with your move and I bet you will have some nice new friends in no time flat and I am sure you will still visit your friends you leave behind as often as you can esp since your parents will be there.

good luck emmy! transitioning is hard - but i love your positivity!! i always crave getting back to "normal".

That's the attitude Emmy...you are gonna do fine...I just know it!! And you will figure it out!!! Just imagine all the new memories you are gonna have to scrap!!!

Columbus is further south then were I grew up (I was alot closer to Cleveland) but we do take several trips a year to the Columbus Zoo (we  Manatee Coast) so maybe I'll drop you and Sheana a line the next time we head over that way!!!!

Wow, what a whirlwind you're in Emmy!! Good luck with the move, and enjoy making new memories in a new place!

You'll only be about 1/2 an hour from where I live, Emmy, so let me know if there's any way I can help!!
