Feel like pouting

We have been trying to buy a house and were scheduled to close on it this week. The house is in the middle of nowhere and has well water. The well is a shared well and the well manager has pretty much been preventing us from buying this house. He thought that the bank's realtor (foreclosure home) was our realtor and when she (bank's realtor) started threatening him with lawsuits for not cooperating, he thought that WE were threatening lawsuits against him! So he started ignoring our calls and wouldn't cooperate with getting the water turned on and fixing the pump in the well so we could get the home inspection and appraisal done. And now because he misunderstood which realtor had been contacting him, he's wasted WEEKS of our time. Time we didn't have, because the house is in a flood zone and we can't get financing on the home without flood insurance... AND no one will be able to write flood insurance policies after the end of this month because the National Flood Insurance Program is expiring. I hear there is some reform to the program on the table now, but if it doesn't pass SOON, we lose the house and the $8,000 tax credit (have to close by June 30 for the credit). :crying:

I really, really want this house. It would be so perfect for us! I want a place of my own. I want to stop renting. I want out of this crappy trailer with mice, huge wolf spiders, and cockroaches. I want to be able to paint my own walls and decorate to my style! *whine*

There are no other homes in our price range that wouldn't need some serious fixing up... so I feel like this is our only chance for at least a long while.

That's messed up! I would have been knocking on his door explaining the situation. I hope everything works out for you guys Megan!!!

Yeah, we had no idea until last Friday that the reason he wasn't cooperating was because he thought we were threatening him. So we just thought he was being a jerk this whole time... and it was really just a HUGE misunderstanding that could've been avoided if he hadn't ignored us. :(

That sucks Megan.

I hope you guys can get it all figured out.

You know the first time homebuyers credit was over May 1st. Unless they've extended it.

Vanessa, you just have to be under contract by April 30, and close by June 30.

And big hugs, Megan! I've been thinking about you guys and praying for you all week! I hope things work out, but I do know that even if you don't get the first home of your dreams that things can and do work out way better than you expected. Still, the disappointment is super hard. *hugs* I hope it all works out soon!

Awww thanks, Megan! :) I've been so super stressed about it all and I'm hoping it works out... but I know it's all beyond my control so I'll just have to roll with whatever comes my way.

I would go speak with the landowner myself. Take a big chocolate cake or something too. Speak face to face and clear up any misunderstanding.

I pray it all works out for you! Buying our house was one of the most stressful times of my life! (((HUGS)))

That stinks! I hope that they can rush things through for you now that you've gotten the misunderstanding cleared up.
