Enable me! I've seen- well- a lot of movies, so I may have already seen what you recommend, but I'd love to hear what you liked! I'm into thrillers, drama, indie films... just about everything except romance or reall chick-flicks (I save those for when DH is out of town!) TIA!

Some recent good ones I have seen are Pride & Glory, Law Abiding Citizen and Zombieland. I am going to watch The Time Traveler's Wife tonight and plan to get The Hurt Locker next.

my husband and I really liked The Blind Side and I think it's good even if you know Michael Orr's story and even if you aren't rabid about football.

We just watched The Ugly Truth today. It can be raunchy in parts (not overly) but it was funny. Not for kids though. We both liked it.

K, so no one laugh at me... but I liked Surrogates. I know it got bad reviews, but it was worth renting. haha Another one of those technology-will-take-over-if-we-let-it kinda movies. haha

My Sister's Keeper was awesome and incredibly sad... I've never cried that many times during a single movie... but I guess you'd consider it a chick flick.

If you haven't seen it yet, STAR TREK. LOVED. IT.

We thought The Night at The Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian was a fun family movie. As far as sequels go, it was pretty good!

Whatever you do, do NOT rent The Box. Oh my word. Crappy.

And if you want a TV show suggestion... I am a HUGE fan of Fringe. :)

Oh, I watched that one, too. Not great, but not bad at all. It seemed kinda like a mix of Terminator and Avatar. lol

Hmmmmmm. Movies - we watch a lot of them... for some reason I can't think of any to suggest but a couple, lol.

The Invention of Lying (pretty clean, but talks about mast******* at the beginning)
Juno
I hate Star Trek, but LOVED the new movie.

The Blindside comes out tuesday so get on the waiting list :) was FAB!!

Time Traveller's Wife
Precious (maybe just u)
The Taking of Pelham 123
The Hurt Locker
Have You Heard About the Morgans (was funny in parts)

Julie- I AM rabid about football and know Orr's "true story" but haven't seen it- will have to do it now.

Megan- I liked Surrogates too :) The worst was Gamer- kinda like it but WAY weird. We rented that and The Box one night- talk about being 0 for 2!

Many of these I've seen, but adding Hurt Locker and Sisters keeper to the queue. Gonna stream Dexter season 1 tonight- I'm addicted to the books (on the final book 4 now)- hope it doesn't disappoint!

Things I watched through Netflix lately and loved: (some of them are newish, others are old) Most of them are documentaries or Indie flicks

500 days of summer
Proof
F**k: A documentary
The Machinist
Omar & Pete
Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices
Redbelt
Following
Jesus Camp

I saw Law Abiding Citizen a couple of weeks ago. Totally freaked me out. Cool concept but WAY more gory than I expected.

Adam and I watched The Hangover when he was here and I loved it. So funny and so much better than I thought it was going to be.

Just saw... "Up in the Air"... I really liked it. We also saw Hear about the Morgan's a few days ago... I liked it too.

Julie- I AM rabid about football and know Orr's "true story" but haven't seen it- will have to do it now.

well, since you like sports, let me tell you about a movie that I LOVED. It's called Forever Strong. It came up as a netflix recommendation and I'd never heard of it, but when my DH, my 18 year old son, and I watched it we all said it was one of the best sports movies we'd ever seen. It's sort of about rugby which I knew nothing about, but it's actually not so much about the sport as it is about this teenager learning about himself. My husband instantly said that if he was a coach in any sport that he'd make all the players watch this film. It was really inspiring. And it also is a true story.

We just saw Up In The Air and 500 Days of Summer and liked both as well. I liked Proof, as well as Music Within. Whiteout was pretty nailbiting. We really enjoyed Whip It and Public Enemies.

We are on a long waiting list for The Hurt Locker, Amelia and several others. And we are waiting for Men Who Stare At Goats and The Blind Side to come out on DVD.

One movie I watched which was a documentary is The Cove. AWESOME MOVIE!! It really makes you think and I was crying by the end because while it is a good documentary it is so sad what is happening to the dolphins.

We watched Precious (my husband and I). He really liked it. The end though was really good and I pretty much hated the mother of the lead character. The last scene with her and her daughter had me crying too. Kinda hard to watch.

The Box sucked....that simple dont rent it. It was dumb.

I did not get Hurt Locker. Not a great movie.

Seventeen Again was pretty funny. A few mature scenes but nothing horrible IMO...some heavy kissing between two teenagers and they give out condoms in Health Class.

Thats all I can think of now.

Whiteout was also pretty good. I had it figured out before the end though.

I haven't seen any movies in ages, but here's my list of movies I want to see, that I've heard good things about:

Up in the Air
Brothers
The Informant
Zombieland
Whip It
A Serious Man
The Hurt Locker
Inglorious Basterds
The Blind Side
Dead snow

i haven't read the dexter books - but we are ADDICTED to the show - love love love it ! LOL! not for those of you who don't like foul language or violence, though (haha - looking at my movies listed below - a LOT of them have bad language and/or voilence -not sure what that says about me!) :)
