I have been hard at work re doing Chloe's room. i took off all the old trim and ripped up the old carpet and padding. Then i had the fun task of taking off the ugly painted over wallpaper. that took me about a week. not fun. then i had to patch up all the spots that were uneven and fixed a hole in the wall where the doorknob hits. the walls aren't perfect; you can see inperfections but i didnt feel like putting up new drywall. I found her this quilt at TJMaxx for $30 and they had one matching decorative pillow for $8. and i have to get her some sheets that go with it.
so we picked out two colors from the blanket for the walls, yellow and turquoise. its bright but the blanket has hibiscus flowers on it i think so it has a tropical feel. i love that turquoise!
these shelves are going to be taken off and repainted, that bottom door is going to be ripped off and that bottom shelf will be used for her built in desk. i'm going to re drywall the inside over the old pink and paint it another color from the quilt.
the flooring is not done; have to wait til next month but we're getting light colored laminate like this:
and of course new baseboards, trim and i decided to put up crown molding too. i'll be looking for a white twin bed for her and a new dresser. and i'm thinking of putting a canopy above her bed using one of these ideas.
she's so excited. i feel like since she's seven and in school she needed her own room, someplace quiet to do her homework and not be distracted by bubby and sissy. hopefully, she'll appreciate all the hard work mommy is doing. i'll have to have DH help with the flooring but i'm been doing it all myself so far.
oh, and i'm thinking of getting her a vinyl wall decoration off of Ebay. either a quote or a cute design to put on that turquoise wall near where her bed will be.
